Welcome to Rideshares Worldwide, an all inclusive list of rideshare companies! From Uber to Lyft, Ola to DIDI, there are a number of rideshares in every city around the world and here at RideGuru we try to track them all. This is RideGuru's master rideshare list, where you can find information on rideshare companies currently in operation or from the past. Take a look, here are the ones we track.

Uber is the largest (and most well known) on-demand car service in the world. The Uber app allows users to request a ride via their Android or iPhone. Once a driver is signaled through the app, it usually takes less than 10 minutes for a car to arrive at your door. During this brief wait period, Uber allows you to track the car's location so you know exactly when to expect its arrival. The app provides a cashless payment process by charging all Uber rides to an on file credit card attached to your account. One thing to note though, sometimes Uber enacts surge pricing during peak travel times, meaning your fare could double, triple, or even cost you up to 7X the normal amount! On the plus side, with Uber's upfront fares you will see the cost of your ride before you go. Uber has many services from standard rides to rides for large groups to premium rides in luxury cars. They also offer unique services like Uber Eats where they will deliver food to your door within the hour. Uber is currently available in 72 countries and thousands of cities.

Lyft is an on-demand, peer to peer, ridesharing service that connects passengers who need a ride with available drivers in the community. Lyft's tagline is "your friend with a car" as the drivers use their own personal cars for picking up passengers.

Lyft cars are available to be hailed through the Lyft smartphone app. Once a Lyft driver is requested through the Lyft app, the rider will be able to track their driver through the app and will receive a notification when their ride has arrived! The app provides a cash less payment process by charging all Lyft rides to an on file credit card attached to your account. One thing to note though, sometimes Lyft enacts prime time surge pricing during peak travel times, meaning your fare price could double or even triple the normal amount! If prime time pricing is in effect, Lyft will always notify you before you request.

Lyft has multiple services from their standard Lyft car, Lyft Line for carpools, Lyft Plus for large groups, Lyft premier for premium service, and more.

As of December 2017, Lyft launched in Toronto Canada, its first international expansion.

OlaCabs, or more commonly referred to as Ola, is an online, on-demand car service based in Bangalore, India. Ola provides riders with a variety of car services, ranging from their ultra-affordable Ola Micro service to their luxury business class options, Ola Prime and Ola Lux.

Ola cabs are requested and booked through the Ola smartphone application via the touch of a button. Once a customer books their Ola car, they will have the option to pay via cash, credit card, or with Ola money. Ola money is a cashless form of payment within the app, which allows a customer to buy Ola credit (via their credit or debit card) to use towards Ola rides.

Ola cab prices are very reasonable but occasionally when Ola cabs are in high demand the company may enact peak time surcharge pricing. Peak time pricing could double or even triple your fare depending on the surge amount. Luckily, Ola will always warn you if peak time pricing is in effect before you decide to book one of their cars.

One neat feature of Ola is that some of their services provide free WiFi during your ride! They also have an emergency alert button within the app if you find yourself in an unsafe environment. Ola is currently available across India and in select cities in Australia.

Grab is an on-demand car hailing service in Southeast Asia. With Grab, you can hail either existing traditional taxis (GrabTaxi), Private Cars (GrabCar), or MotorBikes (GrabBike) all through the Grab smartphone app. Grab also offers some unique services such as Grab shuttle, Grab Family, Grab Hitch, and more. Once you request your ride through the Grab app, your driver and vehicle will be at your location within minutes. Grab allows you to track your driver through the application so you know when your ride will arrive. Grab also provides a cashless payment process by allowing you to pay via your on-file credit card stored within the Grab app or, if you would rather, you can pay your driver in cash.

Didi Chuxing, formerly known as Didi Kuaidi, is a Chinese transportation and network company headquartered in Beijing. Didi Chuxing was formed from the merger of two rival transportation firms, Didi Dache and Kuaidi Dache. Didi provides a wide variety of car types from standard, affordable rides to luxury high-class vehicles. There is even a car pool option if you are looking to save money or if you would rather you can also rent a car using Didi's platform. With Didi you can request your ride on-demand or choose pre-reservation to schedule a ride in advance. When you are ready to pay, the DiDi app will accept cashless payments via your credit card or Alipay.

As of August 2017, DiDi has built investment and technology partnerships with seven leading rideshare companies of the world, including Lyft, Grab, Ola, Uber, 99, Taxify and Careem.

Go-Jek started as an on-demand motorbike hailing service in Indonesia and has since expanded their services to encompass on demand cars as well.

Once you request your ride through the Go-Jek app, your driver and vehicle will start heading to your location to pick you up. After your ride you will be asked to rate your Go-Jek driver and the drivers will be able to see what you have rated them. While Go-Jek prices are very reasonable, it is important to note that Go-Jek does raise their rates during Rush Hour (4-7 PM)! Also, please note that the maximum ride distance for a Go-Jek motorbike ride is 25 km, if you need to go farther than 25 km you will have to switch Go-Jeks part way through your journey or take a Go-Car. Go-Jek allows you to pay through the app via a credit card or, if you would rather, you can still pay your driver in cash. Go-Jek is available in over 50 cities across Indonesia. Go-Jek is available on both iPhone and Android.

Sitbaq is a mobile app based rideshare service located in the San Francisco Bay area. Sitbaq differentiates themselves from others by focusing on allowing their riders to make reservations in advance (up to 7 days). Another unique feature of Sitbaq is that the app allows a rider to add a driver as a favorite. By favoriting drivers you can feel more comfortable that you will get a driver you enjoy while the drivers also benefit by building their clientele base. Sitbaq has upfront pricing with no surge, so the price you see will be the price you pay. With Sitbaq you have the option to hail 4 different vehicle types, basic, van, premium van/SUV, and luxury. Sitbaq is currently only available in California but they are looking to expand soon.

Curb, formerly Taxi Magic, is an on-demand car service that hails an existing traditional taxi through the Curb smartphone app. Unlike rideshare companies, such as Uber and Lyft, which hail a peer-driven car, the Curb app will hail a traditional licensed taxi or professional for hire car. With Curb, you can either request your car when you need one through the app or you can hail a taxi off the street. If you choose to hail one off the street, simply turn on your Curb app once you are inside the taxi and pay for your ride through the Curb platform. Curb's local partners (taxi companies and private for hire cars) set the fares, so prices will vary depending on location. Curb does add a $2 fee to each ride for using their app. The app allows you to either pay via credit card or cash.

One differentiating factor with the CURB app is that it is also tailored for taxi dispatchers. With CURB, dispatchers will be supplied with significant data regarding where their fleet is and how many fares their cars have picked up.

Bolt (formerly Taxify) is a ride-hailing smartphone app that connects riders with local taxis and private drivers in over 150 cities throughout Europe, Africa, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. Bolt offers rides in real-time meaning there is no current option to pre-book your ride. Once nice thing about Bolt is they do offer a variety of payment options from cash to in-app payment (credit card) to even business and telecom payments in some markets. Bolt does have Dynamic Pricing (Surge Pricing) so their rates could change depending on demand. Bolt is known for taking safety very seriously and is even one of the first rideshare companies to offer a specific "Protect Service" that separates riders from drivers due to Covid-19. Similar to Uber Eats, Bolt aslo has a food delivery service called "Bolt Food". Bolt is currently available for download on android, iOS, and windows phones.

Cabify is a rideshare service in Latin America, they are currently present in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Uruguay. It provides vehicles for hire through their rideshare application. Vehicles are driven by their owners, just like Uber and Lyft. When you are finished with your ride, the credit card you have on file within the application will be charged. In select cities there is also an option for cash payment. While Cabify rates are fixed for the most part, there are some areas where their fares will increase during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Cabify currently offers a business solution as well for businesses looking to keep track of all their transportation needs.

FREE NOW (formerly MyTaxi) is a ride service that allows you to hail a traditional taxi through their application. Many applications that hail traditional taxi cabs will charge you a $1 or $2 fee, however, FREE NOW is different in that it does not charge a surcharge for hailing a taxi. With FREE NOW you can either hail your taxi on demand or in-advance. You also have the option of ordering up to 3 taxis at one time if you have a large group. The app is not only available on iPhone and Android but also on Windows phone 7.

Shebah is a ridesahring app for Women and by Women. This female only (males can ride with a female friend!) rideshare service based in Australia, was designed to address concerns about women’s safety in rideshares. Shebah uses only female drivers who’ve undergone background checks and also only allows women and children to order rides. Shebah is also sensitive to mothers with children and gives riders the ability to request a car with a baby or child seat, though this does cost $11 extra. Shebah does not have surge pricing but does have peak travel times during rush hour and weekend nights when their service costs extra. Also, a fun benefit to using Shebah, is that they donate the first 1% of all fares to charity. The service is currently available in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, and Geelong, and is due to expand to Perth, Darwin and Adelaide soon.

Jozibear 24/7 is a ridehailing application based in South Africa. The application connects professional licensed drivers with riders in need of a ride. Through the app riders can track their drivers car on it's way to pick them up. Riders can pay with either a credit card or cash at the end of their ride. JoziBear is available in multiple cities through South Africa, including but not limited to Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg. JoziBear is available on both iPhone and Android devices. If you would like to reach them by phone they do have a toll free number at 0800 123 566.

 UPDATE: JoziBear ended their service on 5/15/2018. 

Founded in London, Hailo connects passengers who need a ride with a taxi or licensed car. The Hailo theory is that passengers will be able to get a taxi quicker through the app than by waiting on the sidewalk and taxi drivers will have less down time resulting in a win-win. The fares will vary based on the city and taxi company so it is not easy to predict your fare. Also Hailo charges a small service fee for using their app but there is no surge pricing so you should expect relatively consistent fares.

UPDATE: Hailo has merged with MyTaxi to create Europe's largest taxi app, all Hailo cars will be rebranded to mytaxi

Established in Australia in 2011, GoCatch is the Australian transport management option. GoCatch's ride-hailing application allows riders to hail economy and premium cars as well as traditional taxis. Rides can be scheduled as early as 30 minutes and up to 12 months in advance or can be ordered for immediate pickup (however, during this pandemic GoCatch cannot guarantee on demand requests). All trips are fully insured and compliant with regulations.

GoCatch never has surge pricing so you will always know your fare before you ride. Another unique feature of GoCatch is GoCoins. GoCoins are a form of digital currency that you can earn after every on-demand trip and Advance Booking. They also have Rewards membership that allows you to receive exclusive benefits and offers, such as complimentary Premium Transfers, Priority Customer Care, Concierge Booking Services, and extra GoCoins. GoCatch accepts multiple forms of payment from credit card to PayPal and Android Pay. 

Summon is an on-demand transportation app that matches riders with a taxi or personal car. You can spot Summon cars by the lightning bolt symbol that appears on every car. With Summon you can order a car in advance for a specific time or you can hail one on demand. Summon does not have surge pricing, however, when Summon cars are in high demand they will switch their rate from their standard per mile metered rate to a flat rate. They will alert you when their flat rate is in effect. You can cancel for free up to 30 minutes before your pickup time and payment is through your on file card within your account. Tipping is available through the app and if you order a traditional taxi car, the app will automatically add a 15% tip. Summon also lets you pick and reserve your favorite drivers. Summon is available in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Redwood City, Foster City and San Mateo.

TappCar is an Edmonton, Canada based ridesharing company. Tappcar’s main belief and mission is that when drivers win, we all win, and as such they claim to properly insure and take care of their drivers, leaving their riders with a higher quality of service and a safer ride. TappCar currently provides their full-time drivers with insurance and health benefits as well as training in smartphone use and customer satisfaction. TappCar allows you to book through their smartphone application as well as online, which is very helpful for those who may not currently use a smartphone on a daily basis. Also, TappCar does offer advanced bookings (as well as immediate for hire rides) and you can choose a TappCar for a one time trip or rent one for an entire day or by the hour. When you order a TappCar you can watch your car travel to pick you up via GPS in the app and once your ride is over your can simply pay through your on-file credit card in the TappCar app. TappCar is currently available in Edmonton and Calgary, Canada.

RideYellow is an on-demand taxi service that allows you to request a traditional taxi through an Android or iPhone app. Simply request a ride and a licensed taxi will be at your location in around 10 minutes. After the taxi is requested you can track the location of the taxi so you know exactly when to expect its arrival. After the trip is over you have the option to tip in the app and rate the driver.

RideYellow also provides each user the flexibility to pay in cab via cash, card, or stored credit card in the app. Additionally if you are already taking a trip and wish to pay for your taxi ride through your RideYellow account, RideYellow actually allows you to sync your current taxi ride with the app under their street hail feature.  Lastly, with no surge pricing, you can depend on the same rate no matter the occasion.

RideYellow is available is various cities throughout California and Florida.

Fare is a ride-hailing platform that allows riders to schedule rides with local professional drivers. Riders are able to schedule rides with drivers they know and trust or they can request and meet a new driver. Rides can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance or can be ordered for immediate pickup. Fare is currently only available in Austin, TX and Corpus Christi, TX.

Update: On June 6th, 2017 Fare ceased operations. This happened less than two weeks after Uber and Lyft resumed operations in Austin, the same day Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law a bill deregulating ride-hailing services, May 29th, 2017.

InstaRyde is a rideshare company based out of Toronto, Canada. InstaRyde is similar to the Uber model, except their prices never change due to demand. Simply download the app, choose one of their six car options (Ryde, RydeXL, Platinum, PlatinumXL, Black, and BlackXL), and a driver will be on the way to pick you up. Payment is completed through the app and after your ride is over, both you and the driver have the opportunity to rate eachother. InstaRyde is currently only available in Toronto, Canada. The InstaRyde rider app is available both on IOS and Android.

Arro connects passengers with traditional taxi cabs through the Arro smartphone app. Their local partners (taxi companies) set the fares, so prices will vary depending on location. Arro does have a service fee of $2 for every ride initiated through the Arro app. Arro technology is directly integrated into the cabs to make it easier for drivers to accept rider requests without having to fumble for their smartphones. When your taxi ride is over your payment will be taken directly through the Arro app so you do not need to carry cash! Arro is currently available in NYC, Chicago, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, Houston, and London, UK. Arro is available on iOS and Android.

This west coast start up app, originally known as Cabulous, is currently operating in San Francisco, Houston, Fort Lauderdale, and Washington DC. Flywheel connects app users with local taxi drivers (much like CURB and Hailo). Open your Flywheel app, request a ride, and track your taxi cab through the app as it makes its way to your pick up location. Once your ride is over, pay your driver through the app. Flywheel also lets you book rides in advanced.

Bounce is a ride-sharing company that focuses on empowering their drivers through offering residual income opportunities and company ownership. By offering better opportunities, Bounce believes they obtain better drivers, providing a more professional and safer rider experience. With Bounce you can also request your favorite driver and schedule rides in advance. Bounce also prides themselves on offering round-the-clock and multi-channel customer support. At the moment Bounce is only available in San Diego, California.

Eva is a ride-share app currently available in Montreal with plans to expand to Quebec City and New York City. While the process to request a ride is very similar to Uber, the company functions quite differently. Eva brands itself as a social impact, cooperative app, where both riders and drivers have the option to be owners of the company. As owners, riders and drivers have the ability to vote on important issues within the corporation to ensure everyone's voice is heard. Eva is currently available on both iOS and Android devices.

Mondo Ride is a rideshare company headquartered in Nairobi. Mondo Ride focuses on its home-field advantage in Africa over international competitors like Uber to gain traction in the market place. Mondo Ride currently offers 4 services, standard, large, tuk-tuk, and boda boda, to give more options to their riders. Mondo Ride is also unique in that the app lets you pick your driver and favorite drivers for the future.

UPDATE: Mondo Ride is no longer active.

Fasten is a ride-hail service operating in Austin and Boston. Their tagline is "You pay less. Drivers make more." Their claim to fame is that they take much less from drivers than Uber or Lyft -- only $0.99 per ride. While Fasten does not have surge pricing, they do have "Boost". Boost pricing is where you can voluntarily opt in to pay a higher rate during busy times to be picked up quicker. Fasten also is unique in that they have a loyalty program. Take 10 rides and get $5 off your 11th. Take 10 more rides. $5 off again! Other than that, Fasten operates like every other major ride-hail company; order a car, track the car, and pay for your ride via credit card through the app.

UPDATE: Fasten ended their service on March 5, 2018 after being acquired by Vezet Group.

RideAustin is a community driven non-profit ridesharing company that was formed in June 2016 when Uber and Lyft left the city of Austin. It is currently powered by donations and plans to be a rideshare company for the community by the community. RideAustin raises awareness and capital for local Austin charities through donations and RideAustin profits. Riders are given the choice to round up their fare to give the change to a local Austin charity. They also offer a female driver mode for their female riders who would feel more secure riding with a person of the same sex. By being a non-profit company, RideAustin claims that they can provide drivers with a higher percentage of the total fare while keeping the fare low for riders – something everyone can agree on! When you order your RideAustin ride, you can track your driver in real time through the app and then also pay either via your on-file credit card or through Bevo Bucks. If you are sharing a ride with friends RideAustin provides a feature that allows you to easily split the fare. RideAustin is currently only available in the greater Austin area. The RideAustin rider app is available both on IOS and Android.

UPDATE: RideAutin ended their service in June of 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Cab Hound is an on-demand car service that hails an existing traditional taxi through the Cab Hound smartphone app. With Cab Hound you have the option of choosing the driver that you feel would be best for your ride. When you open the Cab Hound app to request a ride you will be presented with a list of available nearby drivers to choose from. Cab Hound measures the individual performance of drivers and awards badges based on their historical performance. The badges provide a quick way to recognize the best drivers for particular traits. For example, the clock badge is earned by drivers that are particularly punctual and a star badge is highly rated for passengers satisfaction. 

Cab Hound is also unique in that they have a carbon offset feature to empower passengers to "green" their taxi ride. The carbon offsets are generated by GreenTrees, the largest domestic reforestation project. When you choose to green your ride you will be charged $0.20 at the end of your ride to offset your trips carbon emissions. Payment for your Cab Hound ride is through the app via your on file credit card.

Juno, is a ridehailing service owned by Gett and based in New York, New York. They claim to be the most friendly ridehail service for both drivers and riders, hence their slogan, "A Better Ridesharing Service". Juno does try to live by this motto as they have reserved 50% of the shares of their company to be given out to their drivers, a first in the ridesharing world! Juno also takes a smaller commission (10%) from their drivers than similar services, putting more money in drivers' pockets. Lastly, Juno has a 24-hour assistance hotline, which is a big plus for both riders and drivers! While this company at a basic level is similar to an Uber (download the app, hail a ride, rate your driver, etc), their advantage is in the way they treat their drivers and riders.

One thing to note is that Juno does have high demand pricing or surge pricing, where Juno's prices will rise when there is a short supply of drivers on the road to encourage more drivers to drive and to lessen wait times. This is similar to Uber's surge pricing or Lyft's prime time pricing. One aspect of Juno's surge pricing that is a bit unique, however, is that they will cap their surge pricing so you will only be charged the surge price for a portion of your trip (if you are taking a longer ride). The surge caps for each service are as follows, $30 for Bliss, $50 for Lux, and $80 for SUV. Simply put for Bliss rides, once the base fare reaches $30, the surge price stops and the regular Juno Bliss pricing kicks back into effect. Juno employs this method to ensure that riders are not paying extreme surge prices for long rides.

*Update: On 11/18/2019 Juno officially closed it's doors and stopped it's service.

Time Luxury Services is Calgary’s on demand luxury black car service. They specialize in airport transfers, corporate rides, and special events needs. Time Luxury offers a fleet of luxury vehicles including the Mercedes-Benz S550 and the Lincoln Krystal Stretch. Time Luxury rides can be requested via their website or iOS/Android application. They currently accept all major credit cards and Visa debit for payment.

Yoweby is a ride-share application based in Winnipeg, Canada. Yoweby works to combine the convenience and reliability of app based ride sharing with with top notch customer satisfaction. Different from other rideshares, Yoweby has agents available 24/7 to take your request and provide a scheduled ride if you so desire. Yoweby also offers on-demand rides through their application. Riders can track their drivers car on it's way to pick them up and can pay by credit card through the app at the end of their ride. Yoweby is currently only available on Android.

Zoomy is a ridesharing service, similar to Uber, available in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand. Zoomy is New Zealands first locally owned Ridesharing platform. Zoomy connects riders with local drivers through their application. At this time, Zoomy does not have surge pricing. At the end of the ride, payment is easily transferred through the app through an on file credit card. Zoomy is available 24/7 in Auckland and Wellington suburbs.

Little Cab is a ridesharing service based in Kenya. Little Cab allows riders to hail a car on demand, or schedule one for later, through their smartphone application (available on iOS, Android, and Windows). Little Cabs are unique in that they provide free WiFi services in every cab through Safaricom. Another neat feature of Little Cab's is their Lady Bug service which is a Women's friendly ride service where all cars are driven by Women. Little Cab riders have the option to pay by either cash or card, making transactions simple!

See Jane Go was created in California by a father and daughter team who were uncomfortable using traditional rideshare services dominated by men. See Jane Go's mission is to "drive women forward", through strategic empowerment and partnerships for both women drivers and riders. See Jane Go cars are available for either immediate or pre-scheduled rides through their app. One thing to note is that See Jane Go does use demand pricing similar to Uber's surge pricing or Lyft's Prime Time pricing. See Jane Go is also testing out a program geared towards giving safe rides to teenage girls aged 12 to 17. Currently See Jane Go is only available in Orange County and Long Beach California, but the See Jane Go is looking to expand!

UPDATE: SeeJaneGo ended their service on January 9, 2018 due to not being able to secure the necessary capital funding to continue operations.

Shofer is a rideshare/taxi company based in Perth, Australia. Unlike most new age rideshare companies, Shofer cars are all white Toyota Camry's with black/white license plates. Shofer cars can be hailed through their smartphone app for on demand rides or for booking in-advanced trips. Shofer has a couple unique features such as no surge pricing ever, a panic button within the app for both the rider and the driver, and they outfit all their cars with an Inter-Lock Breathalyzer so you can be sure your Shofer driver is not affected by alcohol. Further, you can choose if you would like a female or male driver.

Shofer tries to make their rider sign up process easy as possible, allowing you to sign up through your Facebook profile. They even take their social media engagement one step further with giving ride discounts for sharing your Shofer rides on Social Media. Shofer has two vehicle options, their standard Shofer which fits 4 passengers and they are currently trialing their Shofer Plus which can seat up to 7 passengers. Shofer currently only accepts credit and visa/mastercard debit cards for payment.

UPDATE: Shofer ended their service during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

SocialDrv is a rideshare company currently servicing Northern California that specializes in pre-scheduled airport and cruise terminal rides. One major benefit of SocialDrv is that they offer a variety of ways to book a ride. Users can book via app, website, email, or phone allowing for easy access to rides when traveling. When you schedule your ride with SocialDrv you will get an upfront price so you always know the fare before you ride. SocialDrv is currently providing airport rides for: San Francisco (SFO), San Jose (SJC), Oakland (OAK), Sacramento (SMF), Los Angeles (LAX), Orange County (SNA), Burbank (BUR), and Long Beach (LGB) Airports.

UPDATE: SocialDrv ended their service in August 2018.

Stroll Guam is a ridehailing service based in Guam. Like most ridehailing services, riders can hail a car and then watch their driver travel to their pick-up destination via the app. At the end of the ride, the application will charge the rider the cost of the fare via the credit or debit card the rider has put on file. If you wish, you may also pay in cash. Stroll Guam does not have surge pricing, so the rates will not change depending on demand. Stroll Guam is currently only available in Guam. Stroll Guam is available on both iPhone and Android.

TotalRide is a ridesharing service in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. Rides can be hailed through the TotalRide smartphone app, online, or via phone. TotalRide has both on demand and book ahead ride options available. Once a driver is requested via TotalRide, the rider will be able to track their driver through the app and will receive a notification when their ride has arrived! Payment can be made either by card or cash. TotalRide has three service options available, Ride, Ride Van, and Ride Assist. TotalRide is available on iOS and Android.

99 (formerly 99Taxis) is a rideshare company based in Brazil. In 2018, DiDi acquired 99 but the process of ordering a 99 car is still the same. 99 works the same as many other rideshare applications, download the app, order your car, track your driver, enjoy your ride, and pay via the app (or in cash!) at the end. 99 has 4 different services, 99Pop (standard rideshare vehicles similar to UberX), 99 (discounted traditional taxis), 99Top (luxury vehicles), Common Taxi (Taximeter Taxis that allow you to travel faster in the bus lane). 99 is currently available in over 300 Brazilian cities

Bahamas Ride is an on-demand taxi service in the Bahamas. They pride themselves as being able to provide safe, reliable, and convenient transportation anywhere on the island. They work directly with the Ministry of Tourism to bring the tradtional taxi service to tourists and locals through their app. Although there are no discounts or changes to the taxi fares – the service allows for quicker and easier access to taxis for locals and tourists alike. One unique feature that the fleet of taxi’s do provide is WiFi in most of their cabs. Bahamas Ride operates like every other major taxi ride-hail company; order a car, track the car, and pay for your ride via credit card through the app.

Blacklane is a black car/limo company based out of Berlin. Blacklane connects riders to professional chauffeurs via their mobile app and website. Currently Blacklane does not personally own its own fleet, but instead works with local chauffeurs and companies in each of their respective supported cities. Blacklane provides top tier cars such as Mercedes E and S Class, BMW 5 and 7 Series, Lincoln Town Cars and more. Through Blacklane you can prebook your ride at a fixed rate so you always know the price before you ride. Blacklane is available in over 250 cities worldwide.

Bridj is a shuttle bus service that started in Boston, Massachusetts and expanded to Kansas City. On April 30th, 2017, unfortunately, Bridj ceased it's operations in the United States. However, by December of that same year, Bridj started back up, this time in Sydney, Australia.

Bridj is a bit different than a standard rideshare company. Through the Bridj app passengers can request a seat on a shuttle bus along with other passengers heading in the same direction. To find a seat on a Bridj bus you will need to open your Bridj app and drop the two location pins (starting and ending locations for your trip). Bridj will then match your trip route with a Bridj bus that best meets your needs. This may require that you walk a block or two to your tailored Bridj pick up location where you will meet other passengers who will be sharing your shuttle bus. Bridj prices range from $2 to $6 per ride. You can book your Bridj either right when you need it or days in advance.

Careem is a rideshare company based out of Dubai, UAE. Careem was first established in 2012 as a website based service for corporate car transfers. Since then, Careem has evolved into an everday rideshare company for the general public. Through the Careem app, you can hail a variety of cars to suit your needs from sedans, SUVs, and luxury vehicles. Careem even has services for families with young children. Careem operates in 53 cities across the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan. They accept both Cash and Credit for payments and allow users to book rides on demand or in advance.

Carmel is a car and limousine service provider headquartered in New York. They have been providing ride services to the public for over 35 years and have expanded their reach to over 350 locations around the world. They have an affiliated fleet of over 800 late model Sedans, Minivans, Stretch Limousines, SUVs, and SUV super-stretch limos. Carmel provides flat rates for all their vehicles and allows you to book your ride through their app, website, or over the phone. Carmel also has multiple partnerships allowing you to earn rewards such as airline points for every dollar you spend with Carmel.

Easy Taxi is an on-demand car service based in South America that hails an existing traditional taxi through the Easy Taxi smartphone app. With Easy Taxi you can hail and track your taxi in real time. At the end of the ride your payment will be taken from your on file credit card or you can pay your driver directly in cash. You will also be able to rate your driver. Easy Taxi also has the option to book a private driver (economy or premium rides) in select cities.

ExecuTesla is a green energy, Tesla and black car service in Austin, Texas. ExecuTesla has the largest fleet of Tesla vehicles in Austin with multiple Tesla Model S sedans or Model X SUVs available for hire. Executesla caters to both everyday riders as well as those who are looking for a ride for a special occasion such as a wedding or corporate get together. ExecuTesla cars are available for advanced reservation as well as on demand. However, there is a one hour minimum for rides (3 hour minimum for weddings or big events). Executesla accepts both cash and credit card payments.

Gett, previously known as GetTaxi, is an Israeli-based startup that connects customers with black car corporate rides and taxis. Gett allows you to hail cars immediately or book them for later. Gett’s main pledge is that they will never surge and their prices are pretty competitive ($10 rides anywhere in Manhattan, for up to 30 minutes and 4 miles). Gett also has a rewards program for their frequent riders. Gett calls these riders “Gett-Setters” and through using Gett they earn points towards free rides and even gain invitations to exclusive Gett events. Gett is a popular choice among corporate clients as the app provides a full business offering. Gett is currently available in 80 cities globally including New York, London, Moscow, St Petersburg, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Created by three Moms, who value safety above all else, HopSkipDrive provides an easy, child-friendly rideshare service. From unique driver requirements that include 5+ years childcare experience to a comprehensive 15 point driver certification process, and even live tracking of your child’s ride, HopSkipDrive tries its best to make sure you feel comfortable allowing your child to ride with their drivers. A neat feature that HopSkipDrive promotes is the use of passwords between the kids and drivers to help insure that the kids are never getting into the wrong car. HopSkipDrive is available in Los Angeles, Orange County, the Bay Area, and San Jose.

Jayride is an international aggregator of airport transfer companies that compares thousands of airport shuttle, shuttle bus, and private transfer companies to book the best deal for your destination. Whether you’re travelling to an airport, hotel, residential address, tourist attraction or cruise ship terminal, there’s a transfer company that can pick you up and drop you off at the airport.

Jayride works with over 3,000 transport companies globally – servicing over 1,500 airports, covering tens of thousands of destinations. Their coverage reaches passengers in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America. Jayride does not offer on demand rides, so you will need to schedule your ride in advance. You will also pay for your ride when you schedule so there will be no surprise charges at the end of your trip.

Kango is an app-based rideshare service in the San Francisco Bay Area  and Los Angeles that enables you to schedule rides and childcare for kids, from preschool to high school. All Kango drivers and sitters are pre-screened with in-person interviews, background checks, fingerprinting, and must have prior experience caring for children. Kids do not need a mobile phone to use Kango as everything is set up in advance. Not only does Kango offer rides and babysitting services, they also offer a platform that allows you to connect and chat with nearby parents, for free. This way parents can also use the platform to set up carpools and play dates. Kango is available as a monthly subscription ($9.00 a month) with subscribers also paying rideshare ($16 minimum for each trip) and babysitting ($15-$20 an hour) rates for each time they use the service.

Since 2006, Kid Car has provided safe and convenient transport to children and parents in New York City by providing specially trained and vetted drivers with age and weight-appropriate, properly installed car seats. Younger children can ride with parents and caregivers around town and/or to the airport while older children can ride unaccompanied to school and after-school activities. Kid Car provides 3 car types: Sedans which fit up to 4 passengers with two forward-facing car seats or 3 passengers with 1 rear-facing car seat; Minivans which fit up to 5 passengers with three car seats; and SUV's which fit up to 6 passengers with four car seats.  Kid Car accepts both on-demand and advance reservations.

Limos.com is a limousine and chauffeured transportation service. Through their partnerships with leading limousine companies around the world, Limos.com connects riders to professional chauffeurs for various occassions from airport rides to weddings and proms. Currently Limos.com does not personally own its own fleet, but instead works with local limousine companies in each of their respective supported cities. Through Limos.com or their iPhone/Android app you can prebook your ride at a fixed rate so you always know the price before you ride.

ReachNow, operated by BMW Group, is the first service to combine car sharing and ride hailing in one app. With ReachNow you can choose to either drive yourself by the minute, hour, or even day (up to 5 days at a time) and simply park anywhere within their coverage area. Or enter your destination in the app and choose to “get a ride” instead.

If you choose to drive yourself, the fee is $15 an hour while if you opt to “get a ride” you will be charged by the mile/minute. With “get a ride” you can set your desired temperature, radio station, and even get some “me time” with the apps quiet mode. Cars range from the BMW X1 SAV to the electric BMW i3. Currently ReachNow does not have surge pricing and you can book your ride up to 7 days in advance.

Currently ReachNow is in Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. However, ReachNow Ride is only available in Seattle.

Please note that to drive yourself you must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience.  You must also have a valid U.S. driver's license and an acceptable driving record free of major violations and accidents. If you opt to “get a ride” instead the age limit is 18.

RipeRides is a ridehail service based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. RipeRides currently only has one service option, a ride in one of thier Cadillac XTS sedans. One main difference between RipeRides and other ridehail companies is that RipeRides drivers are paid employees instead of contractors. RipeRides also owns their own fleet of cars for the drivers to use, so you are not getting into someones personal car. Apart from the personal fleet and salaried drivers, RipeRides functions like most other ridehail applications allowing you to hail your ride, pay through the app, and rate your driver!

UPDATE: RipeRides is ending their service for the time being to "evaluate, restructure, and transition their team and business to operate in a new and different market environment."

SuperShuttle is a mobile app that specializes in airport transportation. They provide rides for groups and solo travelers in one of their 4 service options: Shared Ride Shuttle, Non-Stop Shuttle, Black Car, and Black SUV. One neat feature about SuperShuttle is that they will guarantee that you still have a ride even if your flight is delayed and you miss your original booking time. While SuperShuttle does take advanced bookings they also have on-demand rides for those who are traveling last minute. SuperShuttle provides travelers with upfront fares and requests that you pay for your ride at time of booking.

Talixo, founded in Berlin, Germany, is a booking platform for taxis and limousines. Talixo connects riders to taxi cars and professional chauffeurs via their mobile app and website. Currently, Talixo does not personally own its own fleet, but instead works with local taxi and limo companies to bring you a variety of ride choices in hundreds of cities around the world. Talixo provides many services including traditional taxis, economy cars, business cars, and luxury cars. Each service level has options for smaller or larger groups with their larger cars fitting up to 7 passengers. Talixo mainly focuses on advanced bookings and specializes in airport transfers. Talixo currently accepts cash and credit cards as payment. Talixo is available in over 700 cities worldwide.

Via is a ride-hail app that pools together multiple passengers. Once you sign up and open the Via app you will be prompted to select your pick up and drop off areas. Via will then calculate your actual pick up and drop off locations, which will be within a couple blocks of your desired location points. Via states that this helps them to keep their trip times as short as possible even though they are picking up multiple people. Once your vehicle picks you up you should expect to already see passengers in the car or to pick up some other Via-goers along your route. The number of passengers you might share a ride with will vary but capacities range from 3-5 passengers depending on the make and model of the vehicle picking you up. 

While Via strives to combine ridesharing and public transport they also offer private rides in some cities. It is also important to note that in Chicago and NYC, you can only currently order a private Via car as they have not yet rolled out their shared feature.

Based in San Francisco, Wingz is a pre-scheduled ride service that started out primarily offering airport transportation but has since evolved into offering "around-town" rides as well. Wingz also states that they cater to Senior Citizens by working with care facilities to help provide scheduled, personalized rides for Seniors. Wingz also lets you choose a favorite driver for future trips so you know in advance who you will be riding with. As all Wingz rides are pre-scheduled, you will always know the cost before you ride. Wingz in currently only available in the various cities in the US.

Yandex Taxi is a for hire car service in Russia that allows users to hail traditional taxi cabs through their application or web browser. Yandex Taxi is created by Yandex, the "Google of Russia" and in 2017 Yandex Taxi and Uber (Russia) merged to provide the public with expanded ride options as well as food delivery services. Yandex Taxi can also be known as Yango in some parts of the world. Yandex Taxi does not own a fleet of vehicles, instead customers orders are sent to their taxi service partners who handle the rides. Yandex has multiple options for vehicles from sedans, SUVS, child safety seat options, and bicycle carrier services. Yandex allows riders to pay for their rides in either cash or by credit card. Yandex Taxi currently operates in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Sochi, Perm, Tula, and Voronezh.

Yango is a ride-hailing service that operates in over 600 cities across 17 countries. In some of these cities, it is known as Yandex.Taxi. A Yango car can be hailed through their ridesharing application similar to Uber. There are a variety of car services offered through Yango, such as economy, comfort, and business. Yango offers upfront fare pricing as well as a few unique features such as the ability to request several cars on a single phone and book a ride with multiple destinations. Yango is available on both iOS and Android and accepts cash and card payments.

Zemcar is a rideshare service that specializes in giving rides to children and senior citizens. All drivers are taken through intense security and background checks and must meet for an in person interview and provide multiple references. Zemcars are heavily monitored with live video feeds. This allows parents to watch their child’s ride in real time or request that the Zemcar monitoring team watch the child. In addition, the monitoring team tracks the entire ride to make sure the driver stays on route. If he/she doesn’t, the team calls the driver to make sure everything is OK. Finally, parents can build their own team of drivers and place them in their “circle of trust”, this ensures that any time a senior family member or child needs to be picked up, a driver that the family knows and likes will be sent. The minimum fare for a Zemcar ride is $15. Zemcar is available in Boston.

Zum is primarily a rideshare service for kids, but their differentiating factor is that they allow parents to order babysitting services as well. If you would like you can add on extra features such as babysitting or having the driver stay with your child at their activity for an extra cost. As with other child rideshare services, Zum has stringent background and safety checks, claiming that only 1 out of every 5 driver applicants pass their process. Zum is available in the San Francisco Bay Area, Orange County, Dallas, Chicago, San Diego, Phoenix, Washington DC, and Miami.

The Bandwagon app, allows taxi passengers who are heading in the same direction to connect with one another before taking a taxi, saving the users time and money. This app was mainly designed for passengers who tend to wait in long taxi lines at airports or other crowded venues. Once a user opens their app and plugs in their location/destination, the app searches for others in the same location (ideally in the same taxi line) who are heading similar ways. Bandwagon, does ensure that you will never go more than 20% out of your desired trip route by adding fellow Bandwagon users! When it comes time to pay, a Bandwagon agent will pair you with your taxi's meter and your trip will be automatically paid via your on-file credit card. Bandwagon claims it will currently work in any location where there is heavy taxi usage, however, it's main area of use is in and around NYC, specifically at JFK, Newark, and Laguardia Airports.

BlaBlaCar is a UK-based ridesharing service that connects drivers who have empty seats with people looking for a ride. Simply enter your TO and FROM destinations and with your desired departure time, then choose a driver that's headed your way. You can contact them via phone or text to book your seat in their car. Show up at the designated meeting place and bring exact change. This isn't a ride for hire, instead the money you pay is simply offsetting costs for the trip. At the end of your ride you have the ability to rate the drivers to build trust for future riders. BlaBlaCar is now operating in 22 countries worldwide!

Bubbl is a ride service that operates in the Dallas, Texas area. Bubbl is unique in that their rides are given by throughly vetted off-duty or retired police officers. They drive well identifiable cars and provide live dispatch and customer service support. Bubbl serves the general public, but specializes in transporting seniors, special need individuals, and kids (8 years and older). Bubbl also offers a delivery service. At the moment, all Bubbl rides must be prescheduled either through the app. mobile website, or by phone. Bubbl rides start at $17 and all rides are charged through your on file credit card.

Care Ride provides transportation solutions for seniors, special needs passengers and patients needing non-emergency medical transportation. Care Ride's concierge platform utilizes Lyft for on-demand booking and includes real-time tracking. Care Ride also partners with reputable local NEMT companies to fulfill trips for passengers with special mobility requirements.  

For passengers who need no special assistance, Care Ride charges a concierge fee of 0.23 per mile plus Lyft's charge . Wheelchair accessible vehicle rates are based on vendors contracted rates plus Care Ride's per mileage 0.23 concierge fee. Our contracted vendor's have different rates based on their geographical area, so Care Ride advises customers who require wheelchair accessible vehicle to call for quotes.

Care Ride is currently available in the Metro Atlanta area and rides can only be scheduled via phone.

Carma is an app that connects a network of people with similar commuting patterns allowing them to conveniently carpool with one another. The apps main goal is to make carpooling simple and stress free so more drivers will share cars and reduce traffic congestion and CO2 emissions. Carma also allows you to easily share the costs of fuel through the app, riders will pay $0.20 per mile to their driver, and the driver will earn $0.17 per mile as Carma takes a small cut. You can also opt to give someone a free ride if you prefer not to exchange money! Another neat feature of Carma is they have a system in place for reduced toll charges for HOV Carma cars that have 2 or more passengers. Carma currently has programs in Ireland, Norway, D.C., San Francisco, and Austin.

Carol Drives in a rideshare service for Women riders. All drivers are female and they only allow women riders to request a ride. They currently do not even allow a male companion to ride along with the Women who requested the ride. Requesting a Carol Rides car is similar to other ridesahre services, request a ride through their app and watch the car navigate it's way to your location. At the end of the ride, pay for your trip with your stored credit card. Carol rides is currently available in Miami.

Carpool kids is an app that allows parents to organize carpools for their children's activities. The app allows you to create carpooling groups with families you are already familiar with, it is not a rideshare app where you hire an outside driver. Scheduled carpools sync up with your iphones calendar to make it easier to remember your childs schedule. At this moment the app is only available on iOS but you can sign into your account via their website if you wish to use their features but do not own an iPhone.

Cool Ride-Pooling is the first on-demand ride-pooling company, offering shared rides to the public in Malta since its launch in July 2019.  Their aim is to address the issue of traffic congestion on the island through a sustainable long-term solution. 

When booking through the app, riders get matched with other riders traveling in the same direction. The app also takes into consideration the shortest waiting times (the average is 10 minutes) and shortest traveling time possible. Pick-up and drop-offs are corner-to-corner, which means the rider may need to walk to their blocks corner.

Rides are paid for by a credit or debit card and tips are also allowed through the app. After a ride, riders have the option to rate their experience.

CoSeats is a free car sharing platform that connects drivers who have empty seats with backpackers or travelers searching for a rideshare and cheap travel in Australia. Search for rides along common travel routes or submit your journey to the site so others can ride along with you. CoSeats has been in business since 2011 and most of the users are international backpackers looking for cheap and fun alternative travel options. 

Dash is your typical ride-hail service in Australia. Dash proudly boasts that they do not have surge pricing or any hidden fees. A unique feature of Dash is that they allow you to book multiple rides at once through one account. Allowing friends and family to use the same account if desired.

DriveHer is a ridesharing application that is designed to provide empowerment and safety for Women when traveling. DriveHer’s priority is to ensure safety for all women including cis and trans women, not only for the riders but for drivers as well. Male passengers can also use the service is accompanied by a female passenger. During peak times DriveHer does apply a higher flat rate. DriverHer is currently available in Toronto, Canada.

GoKid is an app that allows parents to easily communicate and facilitate carpools for their children's activities. The app is more of a replacement for long email chains than a ridesharing app as you create carpooling groups with families you are already familiar with. The app does include GPS-based tracking of cars, live mapping functionality, and in-app texting which all make life a little simpler when trying to coordinate carpools. It also tracks and sends reminders to the parents as to whose turn it is to do the driving. GoKid is currently available in the United States.

HopHop Ride is a free car sharing platform that connects drivers who have empty seats with backpackers or travelers searching for a rideshare and cheap travel in Australia. Simply search for rides along common travel routes or submit your journey to the site so others can ride along with you. The website (currently there is no app) covers all Australian states: New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, North Territory, Western Australia and South Australia. HopHop Ride was created by backpackers for backpackers!

Update: HopHop Ride is no longer in operation.

Kibzy is an app that allows parents to organize carpools for their kids. Kibzy provides a platform that connects parents who are already friends as well as facilitates connections to parents you share activities with, but have yet to meet. The Kibzy app offers real time tracking as well as ride reminders, pick up notifications, and drop off confirmation. There is no charge to use Kibzy and set up rides, however, Kibzy will give points everytime you offer to drive someones child, this method of "carma" allows you to give back to the parents who are helping you or your community. Kibzy is available on iOS.

In some of the country’s more rural areas, Liberty Mobility Now has emerged as a solution for basic transportation needs and a first- and last-mile solution for often spotty public transportation access. Based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Liberty Mobility Now operates in seven states, employing its own fleet of drivers as well as partnering with whatever other transportation options are available to get people rides. The company’s goal isn’t to compete with Uber or Lyft but to fill in gaps where popular rideshares don’t operate.

Liberty Mobility Now covers areas of Ohio, South Dakota, Colorado, Virginia, Missouri, is working on operating statewide in Nebraska and is about to launch in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Pogo is an app that allows parents to organize rides for their kids through shared connections. The Pogo app is not a ridesharing app for your kids but a way to find other parents who are driving the same routes as you, allowing you to connect and create carpools for your children. Once you have created shared rides for your children you can track your childs ride in real time to ensure that they arrived at their destination safely. Pogo helps to connect you to other parents in your community that you may either know directly or through a mutual friend, so you are never placing your child with a complete stranger. Pogo also allows parents to review drivers so you can scan through each drivers reviews before selecting a ride for your child. There is no charge to use Pogo as the app simply acts as a platform to connect with other parents to plan rides. Pogo is available on iOS and Android devices.

RideBoom is a ridesharing app with a few unique features. Our favorite aspect of this app is that you can choose your ride for either immediate pick up or for the future. RideBoom’s future time bookings can be made through the app from 2 hours to 7 days in advance ensuring there is a car for those early morning rides or time-sensitive special celebrations. Also, because RideBoom allows you to pre-book through the app they also offer the option for the driver to arrive with baby/child seats so you do not have to worry about lugging your own car seat around! Rideboom only accepts accredited, commercial hire car / van drivers and luxury taxi drivers. Also all of their drivers and vehicles are required to carry commercial insurance for all rides.

Based in Phoenix, RubyRide is a subscription-based startup that markets itself less as a taxi replacement and more as a replacement for owning a car. RubyRide has multiple plans that a rider can purchase that allow a certain number of pre-scheduled pickups and drop-offs within certain “zones” (such as Downtown Phoenix) per month. The company offers limited on-demand service but plans to expand their options as they grow.

Safr is a Boston based ride-hailing initiative focused on the safety and empowerment of women. Through various features such as an SOS button, 24/7 command center ride monitoring, and driver/rider color matching, Safr provides a safe and inviting ride-hailing experience. Safr is unique in that they do not deny service to anyone based on gender. Instead, they empower both their drivers and riders to choose the gender they feel most comfortable riding with. Safr also donates a portion of each ride to a charity of the riders choice!

Sheprd is a modified rideshare service for children in Newton, MA. Sheprd organizes popular ride routes from various activity facilites (YMCA, dance studios, camps, etc) within the town of Newton. Each ride costs a flat rate of $17. School aged children from K-12 grade are eligible to ride with Sheprd. Sheprd will try to match up routes for multiple children so your child will most likely share their ride with other kids heading to the same activities. All Sheprd vehicles are Land Rover SUVs complete with in-car WiFi, TV, and phone chargers. Sheprd is currently only availabe in Newton, MA. The Sheprd app is available on iOS devices.

SilverRide is a service dedicated to providing rides for the elderly. Riders can easily book a ride through the concierge service (at least 24 hours in advance), and the ride is guaranteed! If you need it, the company will also provide accompaniment after you get out of the vehicle. SilverRide also has an "On Time Guarantee" that states that they will arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time or the ride is half-price. Rides are paid through a credit card and SilverRide states that there is no need to tip their drivers, so no cash is necessary!

SIXT ride is a car service which allows users to book rides in advance as well as hailing taxis on-demand. SIXT ride works with local companies and taxi drivers in cities around the world to offer users a range of options for different budgets and needs. Rides can be booked on the SIXT ride app for iOS and Android or on their website.

For rides booked in advance, the user is shown a fixed price before they agree to book so they know exactly what they will pay for their ride. Booking an on-demand ride through the SIXT ride app connects the user with a nearby taxi. The user links their credit card to their account which is then charged only once the ride has been completed.

SRide is a carpooling app that connects riders who need a ride with drivers who are headed in the same direction. SRide only charges the rider a minimal amount to help cover fuel costs for the driver. SRide will also charge an administration fee for using the app. SRide is currently only available in India.

Taxi2Airport.com is an online reservation and booking system for airport transfers all around the globe. They specialize in providing reliable transfers to and from all airports, cruise ports, and main train stations.
