Lyft Now Accepts Cash as a Form of Payment!

Up until this point, rideshare companies only accepted debit/credit cards as a form of payment. Unfortunately, that created a transportation barrier for almost 7.1 million US households who are “unbanked” or have limited access to traditional financial services. Lyft, in an effort to be more inclusive, recently announced a new way to pay for Lyft rides: with cash.

According to Lyft, “Riders can now conveniently add cash to their Lyft Cash balance at more than 35,000 retail locations nationwide including Walmart, ACE Cash Express, Kroger Family of Stores and more. Riders can simply present a barcode or …

UberX Share; Uber's Newest Shared Ride Service

Just weeks after Lyft announced their new and improved shared rides, Uber released a statement detailing their newest service, UberX Share. Similar to Uber’s old pool option, UberX share allows passengers who are going in the same direction to share an Uber ride and save on cost.

Uber's "super-app"

Uber is making some big changes in their quest to become a travel “superapp”. Uber announced on Wednesday that they are now adding trains, buses, planes, and rental cars to their U.K. app. This is all part of a new pilot program that Uber hopes to expand to other countries in the future.

Uber will not be providing these additional travel services themselves, instead they will be acting as a middle man.
