Where is CoronaVirus

Coronavirus has spread rapidly throughout the world causing international alarm as countries continue to see a rise in confirmed cases. A global health emergency has been declared by the World Health Organization. Disruptions in the way daily life carries on may be unavoidable warns the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States.

The outbreak of Coronavirus started in China’s Wuhan province, and China has seen the most confirmed cases so far. China and Iran are experiencing widespread sustained transmission of Coronavirus. There have been travel restrictions within the countries, and there are travel restrictions for citizens of countries around the world going to these countries. 

South Korea and Italy have been in the news recently because of the high rate of confirmed cases. They are experiencing widespread sustained transmission. People who are going on nonessential travel to these locations are being advised to cancel or reschedule their trips by the Center for Disease Control. 

Japan is experiencing sustained community transmission. It has not reached a critical or emergent state yet. People with chronic medical conditions and older adults are being encouraged to postpone any travel plans they have to the region to err on the side of caution.

Hong Kong has a limited risk of community transmission. Any travelers to the area should take the usual precautions to stay healthy. 

89 countries around the world have confirmed cases of Coronavirus. All habitable continents have been affected with cases surpassing 100,000. 

If you are traveling, it is important to practice good hygiene. Make sure to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough. Throw away used tissues immediately. Stay home if you are sick. Do not go in close proximity to someone who is sick. Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for twenty seconds.
