Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
L5 cars have nothing to do with build quality since the Ford executive in counting on them to be running around the clock especially for the rideshare world. Highly speculative and extremely early for that type of assessment. He's just trying to sell a fantasy.
Let's get a few L5 cars on the road first, then we'll find out. Everything that's claimed for something a decade from now is just speculating
Nope, I didn't, I'll het some now though
Thank you, I'll keep you posted, was told it shouldn't take more than 72 hours. What do I have to do? A piss test?
On the SUV platform, yes since they have commercial insurance. On lower platforms, no it's not legal but a lot of drivers do it since U/L don't pay them enough for the rides or keep a massive chunk of what the passenger pays. Poaching Uber Lyft pax is done but in the case of an accident, it's big trouble.
Goes to show how arrogant these people are. They all think they’re above the law. Karma is a bitch Mr. West
Ray Kroc may have been right, they did own a lot of real estate when they first started, after the franchise model kicked in, nope.
Come to think of it, what does Uber actually own? The Brand, granted is worth something, not 60 billion though, they don't even own their servers, go figure. Read this excerpt from a hearing in front of a NY judge when another UBER lawyer made the same argument.
Trust me he said it with a straight face at a news conference this morning, I wonder how that will fly in a courtroom, 😆
It just passed the state assembly, going for Newsoms signature today, has to be done by tomorrow
Nope. It'll be long drawn fight. They just put up 90 million dollars to bring it to a state referendum in CA for the 2020 elections. Drivers are not employees now, so they won't be out of a job. This is what Lyft is doing in NY though.
https://therideshareguy.com/lyft-plays-hardball-in-new-york-city/
The rates have increased over the past couple of years with upfront pricing Uber and Lyft just do not have a profitable business model their Top Line has grown a thousand percent and their losses have grown with it shouldn't it be the other way around
Rates will not be going up due to AB5, it'll be long fight.
I doubt it very much, this is going to be a long drawn out fight, all sides are digging in
I don't see a problem of the driver taking your daughter to the airport if you're trying to schedule a ride it's a hit and miss on uber
They are also expanding their presence in Dallas by hiring 3000 employees in a new headquarters, with a 34 million dollar grant from the city amd state
With a cab you can 😆
Excellent question, most rides after the latest round of cuts are money losers. The gig is not what is sold out to be any longer.
It has to be signed by the governor by Friday, it won't be the law of the land until January 2020. Let the legal games begin. They can't fire you, you're not their employee.
Uber's nightmare will end when they decide to pay their drivers fairly, this is all their doing!
Uber is losing their shirts and more globally to competition lime DIDI, OLA, BOLT etc. Lyft is happy for now to stick to the domestic market and steal market share from Uber which they have done well so far. That's why they're in a race to the bottom. Rideshare is just not a profitable business, it won't be unless rides are priced correctly for the likes of U/L and the drivers
