Absolutely not, that’s been well known for a long time to veteran drivers anyway. I’ve had the pax sitting in my car and they wouldn’t send me the ping. Can’t be closer than that. 😂

I am a vetran driver never had a problem when rider is next to my car or in my car. However I know others have. They are using Batch Matching so maybe thats why. At least that is why I put the articles under the question:) For you to read😊 lol

Very prevalent on Uber much less on Lyft. I've had one occasion that she had to order it 5 times befire she got me. I regularly give rides to her to the airport. It was 5am and they kept sending her a driver from 15 minutes away because it was a lucrative ride. There are also silent time outs etc. Uber algo is designed to feed good rides to newbies as sugar so they dont quit right after they get their sign-up bonus. 😆

I believe it. So far never had the issue. Of course now that I had to respond to you it will happen. Lol I only take 30min + rides on both apps so if they send me anything else its declined anyway. I got spoiled. I no longer drive drunks either. Found a spot where I swear just about every driver heads in when the street lights come on. They dont come back out until about 9am Lol Like when I was 10 back when dino's roamed. If one of my private riders request when they are in my car and it doesnt go to me I am blaming you:)

Yep, you have to find your own honey holes and keep them for yourself, cones with trial and error. Cones with experience, I read on obe of your posts that you have only 2200 rides, that puts you in the semi veteran category. I see that you're putting some thought into what you're doing which puts you in the top 2% of drivers in your city since most are subservient ants. Aimlessly driving accepting every ping.

I started out doing 3/4 days a month for almost a year while I was in Nursing School. Past 14 mths driving more but never full time. November 2018 I started doing only long trips so my numbers go up very slowly:) My 45/65 rides per week went down to 20/25. Work smart not hard. Know your market. Research, trial, and error. Dont accept every crappy trip that pings your phone especially since quest went way down here. I learned the hard way. Made every rookie mistake out there. Didnt know about you tube videos, forums, etc... I found one forum they were all rude idiots so never looked at it after the first time. Thats why I like it here. For the most part if we disagree its done nicely:) My age qualifies me as a veteran:) lol I have over 2300 now and thats not including my private clientele:)

You must be talking about UP.net about the rude forum. 😆 now that's a tough crowd.

You're far ahead of most drivers in your city, poach every pax you get in your car in airport trips, print business cards with a Google voice number to keep your privacy.

I'm glad you have a plan B ready.

I do all the time. All i do is pick up and drop off to airport but never sit in a queue. Tried it one time never again. Lmao how did you guess? I am in a FB group also. Some of these drivers wonder why they dont get tips. The comments are awful. They are mean, rude, controlling, selfish idiots:) They dont know the meaning of Customer Service. Yes every rider isnt the best but the crap I read is unbelievable. Some are definately in the wrong business. I have plan a, b, and c:) I just like the flexibility, instant pay, and driving. Have some health issues and getting old:) Other than getting stiff and achey from sitting too long driving doesnt bother other health issues:) I have 4 kids 2 adults and 2 teens. Somehow they still all need me. If I had to punch a clock I would've been fired a long time ago. My 3 boys have heart issues and one also has asthma, rods & screws in his spine and frequently hospitalized for 1 or all 3 problems. I have an elderly mom also that lives with me …

You have to have thick skin to show up as a rookie in UP.net! They're bunch of veteran drivers who are very bitter to see their income get slashed by 70% over five years. They're mostly using UP.net for therapy since they can't afford it with a professional. 😆

Lol. I ignore them. I had one guy come at me saying I was "negative, bringing everyone on the thread down". It was a negative thread.   Everyones comments were negative. Told him what I thought of his comment and he never replied. I never went back after that. There are the ones that brag or lie, the old ladies (men), the know it alls, the newbies asking where to drive(where its busy)you know how well that goes over in there. I am too old to put up with stupid BS and stupid people.

I agree those drivers can be jerks. Never posted on there. Wouldn't waste my time. Most whine and complain. The others brag and think they know it all. I Love those drivers that always brag how much more they make then another driver. The more they brag the less likely they are making what they say.

Like I said, it's a tough crowd, better have your A game on. I'm on it but veterans don't mess with veterans, if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen rules on UP. RG is more civil but definitely less traffic, it's all good though. Keep up the good work.

I just went into my City. There is nothing they can tell me. Accidentally went into Australia & posted. They were sweet about it. Lol Its not a matter of handling it its a matter of men acting like little old ladies:) Not having the time for BS or attitude. I am no longer in HS been out over 30 yrs have no intention of reliving it. Maybe its a male thing but I am good here. Dont care much for mean, rude people. There is a time & place for that:)  Nice chatting but I worked overnight until 1030am. It was really busy with Long Trips to Airport overnight. More so than usual. I need to catch a few hrs. Ill look forward to your comments. Ride guru is picking up. Hopefully the mean, rude, cranky people stay on UP.net and FB:) Have a good one.

Take care. I just started writing for RG, hopefully I can make it grow to what the management wants it to be.

Not thick skin. The patience to read and believe the bull they post. Half of them are like a bunch of old bittys playing Mah- Jongg. Sorry not trying to offend older women or mah-jongg players. Just an old expression. 😉
