Please see link below if you havent heard what is happening out in CA. Crawl out from under the rock that you've been under:)

I am sure by now if you are a driver you have heard about CA drivers receiving notice from Uber & Lyft. Yes, Uber and Lyft have teamed up together.

Drivers in CA were sent a notice from Lyft and Uber.  These companied have asked drivers to help them fight against the proposed bill to make drivers employees.  Are they serious? Asking drivers to Help them! What have they done to help the drivers? What have they done to listen to to the drivers? Uber started 180 of Change claiming they listened to drivers to implement positive changes. Would love to know who these drivers were.  They obviously dint have brains or common sense. Although I suspect they were ghost drivers. Any changes made were not to help the driver but to help the company. Uber is great for rolling out new " great changes" (Lyft usually follows) spinning it in a positive for the drivers. When in reality these changes  do nothing to help the driver. Uber eventually takes them away a few months later. Look at Uber Pro for example. All that does is make you take every crappy trip that hits your phone. They took the 6% they were adding to the the pro drivers fares away. They started penalizing drivers in some cities for using destination filters. Taking away 30/40% of the drivers fare when they were on DF. They gave $ to drivers that didnt use it. I received $17.00 extra in a month for not using it (normally never used it).  Uber and Lyft do nothing unless it benefits them.

Depending on what happens in CA it could change ride…

Depending on what happens in CA it could change rideshare as we know it. Will it make Uber & Lyft pull their business out of CA?  Will drivers sign? What would you do? Uber and Lyft also claim it would ruin them for all drivers to become employees. Would you like to see Uber and Lyft go away and open up opportunities for a better rideshare company? One that is fair, transparent, and more safe for drivers? What do you think will happen? What do you want to happen? Do you want to be an employee? Remain an independent contractor? Please share your answers, opinions, and suggestions.

I may complain about Uber and Lyft as a company. However I love the flexible hours/schedule, instant pay, being my own boss. I like most of the riders I meet, the new things I learn, seeing new cities, and meeting new people. I still make money by knowing my market (with the help of a fellow driver), we work as a team and give each other info on new spots or where to wait, knowing when & where to drive, finding the busiest places to wait. Its nice having a friend out there while you are driving. You dont feel so alone and you have someone to vent to when you have a crappy day or annoying m, difficult rider.

With that being said I want no part of being an employee. Uber & Lyft all ready have enough control over us. Dont need them having anymore.

I would like to see rates increase to at least what they were a year or 2 ago. They need to have riders use their name not "dickswallower" , "the boss", "tothewindow", etc... riders should have to…

I would like to see rates increase to at least what they were a year or 2 ago. They need to have riders use their name not "dickswallower" , "the boss", "tothewindow", etc... riders should have to sign up with a gov. issued ID, and a real credit/debit card. If riders are reported to be abusive they need to booted from the app. The rating/deactivation process needs changes and improvement. Fair 75/25% or 80/20%  (depending when you signed up). No more BS with "upfront pricing" . Riders think we get 75/80% of the fare so why tip? Riders don't realize they are being charged for the longest most timely route possible but drivers take you the shortest, quickest way to your destination. U and L taking 40, 50, 60% of the fare. No more charging rider surge prices but not giving driver the surged rate. Uber not sure about Lyft will show drivers a $10 surge but charging riders $40, $50, $60. Uber is taking that surged rate. Ripping off rider, lying to driver.  Transparency, no more lies and deceit.

    Summary:

    Increase rates

    Transparency

    Safety

    Stop the deceit and lies

Changes to the ratings and deactivation process

Not an employee, remain a pvt contractor

Many drivers would agree. Dont think this is too much to ask. Do these few things and problems like they are having in CA will go away. Other states will follow. Dont think Uber and Lyft need thise problems. Most of these demands can be worked out with little to no cost to Uber and Lyft. Rate increase will be the only thing that will cost them $. Not asking for rates that they initially pd drivers. Just what we were making a year or 2 ago.
