Do not get me wrong I am beyond happy that Uber is adding more safety features for the rider. I have 3 kids (adults) who use it. One being female. Two weeks ago I ordered a ride for her &bsome friends. Driver managed to blow 2 red lights on same road 1/4 of a mile apart on an 8 min trip. I wasnt in the area or I think I would've found his ass and had a few choice words for him. Anyway the one feature 911 texting is only available in areas that have the capabilities. Which I can assure you are only in a few cities in the US.  They all ready have the phone call in the app to 911 again only in a few cities. So unless you are in those cities it isnt going to work for you. Most of NJ and all of PA dont have the capabilities.

If passengers would check their app & match what they have in their app to who & what car pulls up majority of safety issues wouldn't be an issue. PLEASE drunk women STOP ACCEPTING RIDES FROM DRIVERS WHO OFFER TO DRIVE YOU FOR CASH YOU ARE NOT BEING TRACKED IN THE APP. You may as well hike up your dress, show a little leg, and put your thumb out essentially thats what you are doing in that situation anyway. I hear such horror stories from women in their 20's who are intoxicated getting into cars for cash rides, passing out in the backseat by themselves while riding with male drivers, the list goes on. I lecture all my riders on safety. Most dont even think of what could happen or realize how stupid and irresponsible they are being. I had a girl tell me she had a driver buy her cigs and beer before taking her to destination. He didnt even…

I lecture all my riders on safety. Most dont even think of what could happen or realize how stupid and irresponsible they are being. I had a girl tell me she had a driver buy her cigs and beer before taking her to destination. He didnt even ask her. Told her he needed to run in store and came out with it. Thankfully he took her to her destinatiin safely but not before kissing her. She never reported it. Was afraid to. I hate to say this but we live is a very unsafe, crazy, world riders (especially females) need to stop getting so intoxicated that they pass out, black out, or do something stupid because they are so drunk. I get you shouldnt have to be afraid of these things but REALITY CHECK you have to be.

PLEASE WAKE UP.AND WISE UP!

Don't take Uber alone especially late at night.

Dont get intoxicated to the point you are passing out or you cant handle yourself.

Share your trip

Talk on your phone, face time, skype whatever it is the younger generation does

Get one of those loud alarms on your keychain

Be aware of your surroundings at all times

Make sure when you get in your lock pops up and window comes down - make sure those 2 things are not on child safety if they are ask driver to take them off.

If driver makes you nervous when you get to a well lit area preferably a store or gas station tell him to pull over you need to VOMIT. When the pull over get out and get help

Match the info in your app with the car that pulls up anything doesnt add up do not get in that car at all. Uber will refund your cancel fee.

PARENTS PLEASE PASS THESE SAFETY TIPS ON TO YOUR YOUNG (ADULT CHILDREN). DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN UNDER 18YRS OF AGE TO ORDER AN UBER OR ORDER FOR THEM. ITS AGAINST UBER'S TOS. UBERS INSURANCE IF THERE IS AN AGAINST WILL BE VOID AS ITS IN THE TOS

If anyone has any questions there are very knowledgeable drivers here in the forum. I am sure any one of them would answer any questions or ask a ride.guru

Uber Drivers Lives Matter Too.  We are losing drivers to stabbings, shootings, etc...  All lives matter no matter occupation, race, religion, age, or any other category you can think of.

In the end we all want to get home safely to our families, friends, and our furry or scaly little creatures we call our our family also.

Love the idea for more safety features for riders but would be nice if they would help the drivers out also. I cannot understand why Uber & Lyft  dont have riders sign up with valid ID (passport, drivers license, non drivers license) and a debit or credit card. The only thing I can see is people who are not legal citizens wouldnt be able to sign up on platform. Although here in Philly and a few other cities (not sure how many) will give ID's to anyone even if you are hear illegally no questions asked for 10.00. Any other safety suggestions any other drivers or passengers care to share? Would like to hear your thoughts on this.
