This isn'tnew. This reminds me of initiatives where they tried to educate taxi drivers to look out for criminal activities while driving at night. Looking for signs of distressed passengers or just know whom to contact if they witness something while driving.
"Taxis on Patrol"
Why don't they do the same for drug trafficking and prostitutes then? We all know taxi drivers and prostitutions have been a long term customers of taxi drivers.
PR stunt. I haven't received any "training" yet. Don't fall for Uber's fake Good Boy status now
This PR stunt comment just tells the tale that Uber has 0 credibility.
I haven't received any training information either. Just incessant texts about boosts that yell at me where I should be working the following week.
Thanks for this information. To be honest, it's the first time I heard that Uber takes part in fighting human trafficking. It was really interesting for me to read. And you know, it's so sad that now, in the 21st century, the problem of human trafficking still exists. The situation is even worse in Latin America and Central Africa. I'm working on one uni project now, and the info I see is horrible. Yesterday I came across this page https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/human-trafficking/ with different papers on this issue, which were helpful for me and helped me with my own project. But to be honest, it's not so easy to read about it because human trafficking has horrible consequences for victims, and despite the efforts of different organizations still exists.
Wasn't there a story about an Uber driver rescuaing a girl from human trafficking?
I thought it was two boys on bicycles.
Teens chase kidnapping suspect on bikes, save 5-year-old girl
Ya, this guy: http://www.insideedition.com/headlines/20755-uber-driver-saves-16-year-old-from-sex-trafficking-after-overhearing-conversation
I remember this, so impressive.
If anything, I think Uber encourages human trafficking. They need a way to get around and this enables them.
Maybe they should train their drivers to call in noisy drunk college kids.
...or homeless on the streets.
...or cheating drivers.
...or cheating husbands?
Then obviously hookers and prostitutes.
Drivers know everything...your darkest after hour secrets.
Now traffickers won't use Uber.
Lyft should fill in the gap.
actually, on a serious note, perhaps anonymity (or lack there of) should be argued here? Uber minding your business (and dealers' businesses)... What's next? The driver asking me whether I had paid my parking ticket?
Go Uber, this is the good stuff.
What day are we on the 180 days to Uber heaven?
