Can we really keep blaming Uber at this point? Perhaps we should just let Darwinism weed out the dumb.

“Although the women were aware that the driver of the SUV was not the Uber driver they were waiting for, they thought they saw an Uber sign on his windshield, so they got into the SUV—one in the front seat and the other in the back seat—and asked the driver for a ride to their south end vacation rental unit,” police said in a statement.

This is honestly just like someone getting in a strangers car at this point. It is common knowledge to not do this! If someone willingly got in a Honda with a random stranger and something bad happened do we blame Honda?! NO!! This is just getting dumb.

Passengers of both sexes are guilty of this.  (and it's probably MORE prevalent among male passengers, it's just not reported)

I think the OP was referring to this specific article which involved only women but you are right. It is more prevalent among male passengers but sadly they do not end up in danger as frequently as women so it is not reported.

This is not Ubers fault. Damn never thought I would ever use that sentence:) Not to speak ill of the dead but that young woman was either too drunk or just plain careless. Uber has been alerting riders in their apps to verify their drivers with the info they have in their apps. What happened to that young girl and many other similar stories are all over FB, You Tube, forums, articles online. Luckily nothing bad happened to them. You have to wonder are these stories true?  Are these people really that stupid? I just dont understand how women can be so brain dead, its beyond stupidity at this point. There is no excuse not to know better. SMH
