4 years ago in  What is an Uber Cleaning Fee?

I am upset because as a driver, Saturday nights are my night to make some really good money and tonight was one of the rare Saturday nights there were all sorts of promos going on and surges, so I expected to clear at least $250 at a minimum. Mind you, this is my only job at the moment, so I depend on this income. I was only on my third fare, when I picked up some college kids at SMU in Dallas, they were at a "pre-party" and headed out to the bars. The boy sitting behind the passenger seat had clearly done a bit too much pre-partying and projectile vomited directly at me and the girl sitting in front of him. Before I could drop them off, he managed to throw up all over the inside of the door and backseat. The smell was so bad it took me washing my hair our three times before the smell came out. I have no idea how much it will cost me to get that smell out of my car, but I am sure it will be expensive. No one has brought up the issue of lost wages. I am now out at a minimum $200 for tonight and a day of wages tomorrow (Sunday), which are always very lucrative days as well. I doubt I can get my car cleaned before Monday. The passengers and/or uber should be made to recoup some of our losses in fares. This weekend's money was going to pay my rent, now I could risk being evicted, for no fault of my own. Very frustrating.
