I have used both Uber LYFT and a taxi. I have never had a problem with UBER or LYFT however I have had a lot of nightmares rides with a taxi. One to the point I was scared to death because he drove so fast and reckless. A person in the building where I live even commented to me after I got out that my driver was driving like a maniac . All Uber and LYFT drivers go thru an extensive background check and the cars are also checked for Cleanliness.
