Thank you for your further comments Redant. I’m not sure if the journey was classed as a “car share” exactly but don’t have much experience of how it works. I certainly have a better understanding now about unpleasant passengers but I only have one question for you. You’ve said you’re a grandmother of six. Would you really be happy for this man to be driving your young granddaughter home when he’s on such a short fuse? I hope for her sake and everyone else’s that he was just having a very bad evening.
I wholeheartedly agree about black cabs although I don’t want to offend all the very nice, kind Uber drivers who have replied to me! I have to confess I’ve only ever used Uber when sharing with friends who order them but up to now nothing of this sort has ever happened so I think this driver had just had a very bad day or something. Hopefully he doesn’t make a habit of it.
Thank you for your reply. My main concern was that this person might behave like that with someone younger and more defenceless, over a perfectly innocuous remark. Perhaps this man had experienced one too many awful passengers that evening and just flipped at my friend asking about the route.
That’s so sweet of you; I think it was my first real experience of very sudden aggression and I found it quite frightening.
Well, it would appear that drivers suffer far more than passengers - that much is clear. I had no idea.
However, I’m shocked that you think that I posted that other, rambling post. My syntax and grammar are far superior nor, I hasten to add, do I go around drunk. I’m not surprised that drivers feel the need to oust those sort of people from their cars because I’m not sure what else you can do.
I feel that everyone should be responsible for their actions and on that last note may I respectfully suggest that you explore your aggression issues since you sound unnecessarily angry.
I’m so sorry you’ve had such horrible experiences from the travelling public. I’m really shocked. That’s just horrible.
