  • Thanks, I didn't know you could contact the driver.  And afaik, it's hard to test these things without actually requesting a ride.    But I'll google to see how, and even if I don't find it, I'll remember it when the time comes.  (I ordered a pump and to replace the missing air chamber valves, about $50 for both, and I looked at maps, so I'm getting closer.)  It strikes me as incredibly yuppie or suburban to take a hike or boat down a river and then take a taxi back, but it's practical.

  • You're right.  I should know this stuff by now, but I don't.  Thanks.

  • BTW, a faker app was a good idea.  A couple years ago I dl'd a faker app that I think lets me fake my phone number, or something, but I was just curious, I have no one to hide from, and I'm not going to use it.  And with the PC I installed a VPN (?) that let me change my pc's location, but I coudlnt' get the one I chose to work.

  • My bad.  The middle of the screen asked where I wanted to go and I picked a place.  And then the map is sort of fixed.     But I found out just now that I click on the little half-height map at the bottom of the screen, it opens up full screen and you can pull the map with your finger to wherever you want.  (There aren't many ubers running around near River Road/Patapsco State Park, but they aren't that far away and I'm sure if I'm willing to pay, they'll come.   And my rubber raft is no bigger than a suitcase when I deflate it and roll it up. Just have to pick a day after it rains so the river is high enough.  It's looking good. )  Thanks for your help.
