Can I assume any Uber has room in the trunk for a medium sized suitcase?
Or do I have to say something when calling for one?
If it's no bigger than a medium suitcase but it's a deflated rubber raft that might be a little wet, that is a problem, right? Some drivers don't want their trunks to get wet even a little bit???? If you agree that it would be a problem, I'll wait 90 minutes instead of 30 until the raft dries even more. I don't want someone to come and then feel cheated of his time when he turns me down.

Thanks, I didn't know you could contact the driver. And afaik, it's hard to test these things without actually requesting a ride. But I'll google to see how, and even if I don't find it, I'll remember it when the time comes. (I ordered a pump and to replace the missing air chamber valves, about $50 for both, and I looked at maps, so I'm getting closer.) It strikes me as incredibly yuppie or suburban to take a hike or boat down a river and then take a taxi back, but it's practical.
I don't think this would bother most drivers but you can always contact them in the app as soon as you request to let them know the situation, if it is a problem for them they will simply cancel the ride and you can request a new driver.
You're right. I should know this stuff by now, but I don't. Thanks.
Give the driver a good tip and it won't be a problem...
