So I have been driving for Uber for 3.5 years. I never report to Uber about a returned item. I usually just return it free of charge. I had no idea until today that Uber assesses a few for a returned item because my rider contacted them and then called me and left their phone number. Uber contacted me after I accepted a tip on Cash App and I discovered they were gonna assess a fee. I discovered this gets charged to the rider so I refunded her tip on Cash App and texted her to let her know.
