My valid documents have been rejected by the Uber computer and although the Help staff and I have tried numerous times to rectify the situation it just keeps producing the same outcome. There is absolutely no real tech support with a living person available and the Help staff are not empowered to make changes despite what they can see on their screens. This is an egregious flaw in the Uber technologies technology/corporate structure. 😫
I never seen anything from Uber saying how much you should tip the driver. According to this article Uber has tipping suggestions. I guess they assume if drivers get tipped we wont complain about the rates as much. https://themoneycouple.com/why-should-you-care-about-tipping/
Under the new set up everyone loses, pax, UBER, Lyft and taxis. https://therideshareguy.com/major-changes-for-uber-lyft-at-los-angeles-international-airport/#more-33107https://www-latimes-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2019-10-13/uber-and-lyft-make-lax-a-nightmare-move-them-off-site-not-taxis?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&_amp=true&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15709857529075&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.latimes.com%2Fopinion%2Fstory%2F2019-10-13%2Fuber-and-lyft-make-lax-a-nightmare-move-them-off-site-not-taxis
Los Angeles city council is recommending a $30 per hour pay for Uber and Lyft drivers, my buddies at RDU Rideshare drivers united have been lobbying for this for a while. Let's go!https://losangeles-cbslocal-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/10/09/city-council-president-proposes-30-hourly-pay-for-lyft-uber-drivers/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15706636316544&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Flosangeles.cbslocal.com%2F2019%2F10%2F09%2Fcity-council-president-proposes-30-hourly-pay-for-lyft-uber-drivers%2F
Reality distortion field...Uber contract drivers helped bring in more than three-quarters of the company’s revenue in this year’s first six months. But as Uber would have it, the drivers aren’t essential.Uber raised eyebrows last month when its chief lawyer asserted that “drivers’ work is outside the usual course of Uber’s business” in a call laying out the company’s resistance to a California bill that would alter the employment status of many “gig” workers. It is a legal strategy the Silicon Valley company has been honing for years that helps it avoid responsibility for the actions of its drivers. ...
Yes. Regardless of who's at fault for the accident, everyone should report the incident to Uber. It'll help to ensure that they are covered by the insurance and make it clear the driver was in fact in Period 3. We talk more about that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZN9JHwjLu8 It's also important the driver gets the passengers information as it may be needed later if a lawsuit is filed. I am all for driver safety and would hate to think of this guy in a scary position but I don't know something just doesn't rub me the right way here. I feel like there is way more to this story than this Uber driver is telling. I mean he had no serious injuries but said he feared for his life? Also he had already driven with this guy for 70 miles!https://www.foxnews.com/us/uber-driver-who-fatally-shot-drunken-passenger-not-guilty-of-murder
I just stumbled on this techcrunch article about how Uber has now started Uber Pet for people who want to bring their animal with them. Is it just me or have they definitely already launched this initiative before? I swear they just revamp things over and over and over. Probably to get even more free press.
(I'll probably get skewered for this, but it's worth a discussion!)While most rideshare drivers are more than fit for the job, it's sometimes the reckless ones that cause issues for everyone else. Wrongful deactivations for drivers are nothing new and LegalRideshare aggressively opposes when drivers are taken off the road unfairly. We hear about it time and time again, and it pains us how a driver with a near-perfect record (for years), can be dropped instantly at a false claim by a passenger. But there is another side. Some drivers ARE reckless, have been banned and somehow return the ...
We just got the dreaded penny surge in Los Angeles, Lyft had their useless PPZ for a few months in action. This may be their way to profitability, take a look at the screenshots below. This is a 30 mile ride from LAX that lasted less than an hour where the pax are 0charged ripping surge and PT and the driver gets paid peanuts, drivers were paid $42 on Uber including the bonus and $32 on Lyft with no bonus. U/L take rate on this ride 60-70%, I thought it was the other way around.
They gave Uber 500 million pre IPO, gone in a couole of months. Softbank is also under as well as the Saudis. You know what happened to that journalist in Turkey when he wrote negative stuff about the kingdom. Watch out DK, you can mess with the drivers but not the Saudis.https://finance-yahoo-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/finance.yahoo.com/amphtml/news/paypal-writes-down-228-million-210030706.html?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15706634021091&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Ffinance.yahoo.com%2Fnews%2Fpaypal-writes-down-228-million-210030706.html
I have been searching for five years on how or what side hustle business can I do that could possibly turn into a small business . I did finally find something and I now in the research step . Our market has become saturated especially in NYC to a point where the stress level is just not worth it . There are plenty of legit U tube videos to give you ideas that can really boost your income . Whether your yellow taxi or a ride share driver you are not your own boss ,you basically bought a job unless ...
Can someone who knows this stuff help me decipher if this is good or not? 14% increase in revenue but a huge loss due to IPO expenses. Is that normal? It's all greek to me.I mean, these graphs look bad to me.https://www.wsj.com/articles/uber-posts-its-largest-ever-quarterly-loss-11565295373?mod=article_inline
Give the driver credit here to put this guy away, yes he was also detained but released after questioning. https://fox13now-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/fox13now.com/2019/10/12/provo-man-uses-uber-to-transport-meth-heroin/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15709864178749&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Ffox13now.com%2F2019%2F10%2F12%2Fprovo-man-uses-uber-to-transport-meth-heroin%2F
We have Uber rideshare, Ubereats, UberCopter, UberScooter, UberBikes, UberGroceries, Uber Submarines now UberBoat 😆 Looks like their business plan is to throw all the darts to the board and see what sticks. All this to lose billions, hey DK I could have done all this for half of the 45 million a year you're getring paid.https://amp-cnn-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/10/11/africa/uber-boat-lagos/index.html?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15709860734849&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F2019%2F10%2F11%2Fafrica%2Fuber-boat-lagos%2Findex.html
This is all their fault, who told them to oversaturate the marketplace? Who loses? The drivers, Lyft and Uber gain by lower pick up ETAs as driver utilization rates collapse and they're forced cruise without pax adding to congestion. Now they're suing to bring back unlimited caps on cars. https://mobile-reuters-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1WR0NG?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15709855032417&_ct=1570985503779&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reuters.com%2Farticle%2Fus-lyft-inc-lawsuit-newyork-idUSKBN1WR0NG
