How long do the batteries on these scooters from Bird, Lyft, Lime last on a single charge? How far can I travel and for how long?
Planning to use it in Austin to get around all day. How long do those batteries last? Should I be … -
What will happen if a scooter (think Lime, Uber Bird or Lyft) runs out of charge while the user is driving it?
I also cannot sleep thinking about what happens when it dies mid trip. -
Is it true that drivers avoid turning on the A/C to save on fuel costs? Won't that hurt their ratings?
I saw this article about drivers hypermiling and not wanting to use air conditioning. I was thinking drivers do NOT … -
Why are Uber and Lyft drivers angry and protesting? Didn't Uber and Lyft mean for these jobs to be part-time and as a side hustle?
I have been seeing a pattern. People who are part-time and treating this as a side gig are not complaining. …
this challenges their business model though. you'd think the supply and demand balance will prevail but there are obviously cases where it just doesn't work. If anything this showed me that the regulated taxis are needed (more so than whether uber will be gone)
Every post and infographic has a bias, and for this one, I think it's obvious the "70%" bit. What this image is trying to convey is "if you may have covid, please wear a mask." The other two numbers are there for effect.
One correction. Uber's business model is to rip off drivers AND riders. They charge whatever they want to the passengers now - whatever they are willing to pay. Business riders get charged more for example.
What's worse, the drivers still get paid the contracted amount (per distance and time) regardless of how much overcharging happens.
Uber Freight can be used for school buses, sure.
This may actually not be a bad idea, as the school buses take very specific routes every day on a schedule.
It's like Trump's tax returns permanently being under audit.
Uber only looks at the prior 500 rides, so if you do 500 rides, it'll fall off. ...but as long as you are a courteous driver, a one-star rating will average out to nothing way before that.
Yeah, this defeats the whole purpose of the gig economy and the on-demand workforce. I don't know whom to blame anymore or whom to cheer for.
I am sure he is selling out Uber and also our country.
We are all slaves of the rich. Every move by these entities is designed to suck the wealth out of us directly into their pockets.
Sweet. Thanks.

Thanks. Total newbie. I didn't even know you can check the battery before the ride. Do you know if that appears on the app or do I have to pick it up first to check?
All I know is that I heard scooters are great in Austin. Gonna give it a shot.
I say, "Hey, man, thanks, but I am not in a hurry." then maybe add, "can you slow it down a little."
I am trying to think of how the drivers think. I guess the most uncomfortable thing is that they maybe a bit embarrassed, but I don't think it's bad as you think.
They instead hired some Chief HR officer as a female and then blamed all the sexism stuff and fired her. Am I remembering that correctly?
