The cancellation charges in Uber are totally absurd because the company is charging us for the cancellations done by the drivers as well. Why will I make a payment for a ride that has been denied by the driver?

Wouldn't this be illegal in some ways? The rates being lower than the Federally approved per mile rate? I guess it all matters on what's agreed upon, huh?

So let me be sure. I would not be charged if the driver cancels on me *before* showing up at the location. Is that correct?
Let’s assume I’m doing everything correctly on my part. Out on the curb, specified location, and ready to go. There is no way I would be charged the cancellation fee if the driver cancels?
I didn’t even know UPS and FedEx fluctuated the prices. I mean, is that often though? They must have to go by a posted rate, I’d imagine.
I guess Uber doesn’t have to worry about the fluctuating fuel prices. It’s good to not have to worry about those expenses.
