  I never figured it out. Now I see a ton of Uber eats ads at the bottom that can't be swiped away. Really annoying.

  Yeah I don't put a lot of stock in this article from a segment called the "Intelligencer". Uber isn't going anywhere. They will eventually turn a profit, once the industry consolidates a bit, which I expect to happen in the next few years. Then they will be riding the gravy train.

  I kind of have a hard time understanding why people still use uber. At least in the USA. Lyft is just plain better, available in all the same places, and doesn't make me feel dirty for using it.

  I can totally sympathize with this couple. You're on vacation, in a foreign country, you don't really know how things work, and some nice seeming guys offers to sweep you off your feet and take care of your ride from the airport. You're tired from traveling, you have a weak moment. ANd the engagement ring being in the bag just adds to the problem.

  I hate to admit it but I could see myself falling for this under the right circumstances.

  The taxi industry is grasping at straws here. They were just way too slow to adapt, and they are paying for it.
