Our favorite on-demand moving and delivery app - Phlatbed- is now ramping up in greater Charlotte, North Carolina! This means Phlatbed drivers are now delivering your Facebook Marketplace items in Charlotte, Huntersville, Mooresville, Lake Norman, Concord and the surrounding areas! There's nothing more exciting than simple innovative solutions to relatable problems. Need to move an item fast, cheap, and on-demand, including junk removal! 

Everything is completed in the mobile app. You may install the mobile app from the app store, all the steps must be completed using the mobile app. 

To get a move completed on-demand, you may follow the steps below;
  1. Take pictures of all the items you need moved
  2. Enter as much details as possible
  3. Set the date(s) and Times you need it done
  4. Name your price 
  5. NOTE: Payment is withheld until the delivery is complete before being released to the Driver. All drivers are pre-screened, cleared and safe
  6. Done!
Once the 4 steps are completed, the orders will immediately go to our pre-screened network of drivers in real time, and you will get multiple bids/responses.
You may select a driver of your choice based on ratings, price, and their driver profile. The better drivers will have pictures of their vehicles.

Selecting a driver will require you to set up your payment profile in the App via Stripe.

A driver recently reported making $1800 in one weekend in New York City.

Additionally, unlike other platforms, Phlatbed does not charge a fee to become a driver, and they do not charge you the cost of the background screening process upfront, though this is scheduled to change this year according to some driver reports. 

The process remains the same with driver recruitment, very simple. This could be a good alternative if you have a pickup truck and don't want to drive for Uber or Lyft. Drivers definitely drive less while making more. You also control what you charge, compared to some company setting your rates. It's definitely worth a look if you're in the Charlotte, Huntersville, Mooresville, Lake Norman, Concord and surrounding areas.

 Becoming a Driver:

  1. All Drivers are cleared before being able to take on jobs. 
  2. At the top left of the App, you can open the Menu button, then Tap "Become a Driver" This will guide you through the process. 
  3. Upload your Drivers License (front and back)
  4. Take a Photo of your face - a clear one
  5. Click Next to Submit
  6. This will complete the Driver part
  7. You may also enter your information in your profile on the App, with profile photo and background image - then Save. This helps when you bid on jobs so that Customers can see you and your basic information. This helps Customers put a face / person to the bid.
  8. You may also then Add your Payment information to receive payment for your completed jobs.

Drivers with full profiles seem to get more jobs, according to a statement from Phlatbed.

To Set up your Profile

Your profile includes your information, however customers only see your profile pictures and ratings. Other contact information is not made visible.

Fill your profile in 5 steps are below;

  1. Tap on Profile
  2. Tap on the Edit icon - pencil in a circle to the right side of the page
  3. Enter all your information correctly (ensure every field that's not optional is filled out)
  4. using the camera icons in the photos area, upload any relevant pictures (both on your profile icon circle on the top left, and main image on the top right - pictures of your vehicle goes a long way with customers)
  5. Once done, tap on the Save icon on the page (icon of a square disc on the orange circle)
  6. Then you'll be all set!

 You'll need to include your payment information in order to receive payment for completed jobs

  1. Tap on connect to stripe
  2. Follow the prompts
  3. You will add your payment account (Debit/Credit card OR bank account number) where payment for completed jobs will be sent
  4. Once added, you will be able to start and complete jobs.

IMPORTANT:

Please remember, Phlatbed is not a broker or carrier, and not organized labor, nor do they employ Drivers. This means they do not control or interact with or control driver and customer/consumer interaction or behavior outside of using the app or what job orders you chose to respond to. Meritocratic, meaning those with the best reviews will get the most customers.

The app does take a bit to learn, but overall who wouldn't want to make $200 in 2 hours or less.
