I had a pickup In my small town for a mile trip to an upscale resort. Upon arriving (1/3 mile from gate to reception area) riders asked if they could request me again as they were leaving for Key West soon. (About 50 miles away) I inquired how long they’d be & was told very fast as they’re checked out & luggage was awaiting at reception. I offered to continue trip as Uber would automatically track & adjust cost. (These requests are common in my town as well as round trips with waiting & one or more stops.)
I only waited a minute & changed destination to the new Resort in Key West. (If I don’t Uber assumes I should be able to pick up new riders sometimes & if not on way, spoiled riders (Most bigger cities often have a half dozen Uber drivers close by!) get upset!
Dropped off riders in Key West. May fare wasn’t showing in my wallet. Called & was directed to flag trip in the app & rejected my call. (So much for platinum customer service!) Nearly two hours later indicated issue about trip & no response even next day. At first glance noticed something about trip ‘time’ the day had tropical downpours where other drivers slow down even illegally driving with emergency flashers on! My only safe choice is keep my distance & slow down also. We also had construction delays so trip was (maybe) 20 minutes longer than usual.
I write to Uber about that, pointing out my GPS & riders GPS should validate trip. More days without replies other than ‘looking into it’ & ‘happy I’m platinum & one of the best drivers.’
A couple more days & I’m getting pissed! …

A couple more days & I’m getting pissed! By Friday I file a Federal Trade Complaint & let Uber know & that I’m pissed off!!! I think Sat or Sun they reply trip was “improper” which is if fraud or deceit or unqualified rider! (No explanation exactly why claimed that!) which floored me as I only did what my riders asked!
The first few days I thought the rider complained it took more than app ‘suggested’ it would but later realized they didn’t refund him, they just STOLE MY FARE!!!! I wonder if this is what Uber is doing to make up for all the lost income due to COVID-19 restrictions and closures?!?!
So the other day I filed a formal complaint with the state agency that oversees Uber!
I don’t know how to fight this! I know in the agreement we have to check off when we start to drive it says we agree to arbitration; how can I request formal arbitration so that I can sit before someone to plead my case because I didn’t do anything wrong?!?!
