  The list from JessMin and Uber are pretty good, but I got a few more to add.

  • Use Uber's 24/7 support channels - In a case of an emergency or simply when you have concerns, you can use the Uber app to call the company.  They have a 24/7 support, and they will pick up if it is an emergency.

  • Cancel the ride if you are uncomfortable.  I can't stress this enough.  Trust your gut and listen to it.  If anything feels wrong, just cancel the trip, ask the driver to pull over, and get out.  If needed, call another Uber or a cab.  Sure, you may be wasting a few bucks, but it's only a few bucks.

  • Keep a protective device or pepper spray on you

  • Keep your phone on the whole time.  Or pretend to be on the phone for the ride home.

  Instead of sitting in the wood watching Netflix, can't you be working for another company.  Like Lyft?  Wouldn't that double your pay.
