Are there any techniques drivers employ in order to get more ride requests?

One of the best techniques to get more ride requests is to drive for both Uber and Lyft. You've probably noticed a driver or two that has both the Lyft and Uber trade dress. Typically, when it's slower out, drivers will turn on both apps and take whichever request comes first.

Personally, I prefer Lyft rides since they pay a little more and they provide the option of in-app tipping. For more info on the differences between Lyft and Uber though, check out this video.
