The price is for the whole group
The taxi fare quoted is for the trip and for as many people there are in your group. (up to capacity, of course.)
Some cities and taxi services charge fees for having extra passengers. For example, in Philadlephia, taxis charge $1.00 for each additional passenger. This is usually a flat fee for the whole ride, and it will not multiply the entire fare.
This is typically what happens with rideshare and ridehail services like Uber and Lyft as well. The only exception are carpool services such as UberPool.
