  I dont know, I actually would think this stat might be accurate. Every driver I talk to talks about their full time job or how they just do this at nights or because they are retired. It is rare to meet someone who does this as a full time job.

  That seems ridiculous. If you have bought the vehicle you should be allowed to dictate how you use it. Now if Uber/Lyft doesn't want Tesla on their platform then they are entitled to that but Tesla cannot dictate how people use their cars.

  I think some drivers start driving just a a short term thing - summer break, in between contracted jobs, to make that little bit of extra money for that trip coming up, etc

  Um this is definitely illegal. You cannot use Lyft if you are under 18 so this lady did not leave her kids in the hands of a capable adult. I mean this is like saying, "hey I left my kid on the street corner with that guy".

   5 years ago in  Susan Fowler, the Uber whistleblower, opens up at SXSW about her fight against sexual harassment and discrimination.

  Good for her, she really did set off a string of events that helped Uber to finally shape up their act. The new administration should really be thanking her.

  Sure, this article lists a lot of negative consequences of Uber and Lyft but look at all the good these companies have also done - new jobs, introduction to the whole gig economy, providing easy transport for less money, researching new ways to move people through driverless cars or flying automobiles, connecting people who may have never have had the chance to meet and share their viewpoints on the world. I do see some good in all these changes.
