It happened.  No, not someone using Lyft in this manner.  The arrest happened.

Who is the Lyft driver who did this?

Unpopular opinion here...technically this isn’t child desertion, right? She put the care of her child in the protection of an adult and his or her supervision. No?

Um this is definitely illegal. You cannot use Lyft if you are under 18 so this lady did not leave her kids in the hands of a capable adult. I mean this is like saying, "hey I left my kid on the street corner with that guy".

I’m gonna side with the filthy mouth pervert rapper on this one. If the driver told her unaccompanied minors are not allowed to use the service and by golly not accepted the unaccompanied minor into the vehicle then we could be talking about The Avengers right now and not this story. Furthermore the driver should be ticketed for having a child in the car without a safety seat and deactivated by Lyft.

If someone tries to bring an open beer into my car and I see it before they get in I’m not supposed to let them in with the beer and then drive them to the police station. I am supposed to like, you know ..., tell them they can’t do that, duuuuh derp.

It sounds to me like the driver was frustrated probably having had their fair share of idiot passengers trying to do things they aren’t supposed to be trying to do. As a driver I feel like a damn adult daycare sometimes.  That still doesn’t make it OK to break the rules/law in order to prove…

If a passenger wanted to go rob a bank and use you as a getaway driver I would hope you have the common sense to not go along with it. At your trial I don’t think your strategy here is going to work in your defense.  Yes Honor I knew I was being used as an accessory in a crime but I didn’t want her to be able to deny using my vehicle in this illegal manner that’s why I went along with it so there would be no doubt.

Very happy this mom got in trouble. No one under the age of 18 is supposed to take an Uber or Lyft without an adult. This was a 5 yr old child. Where was her head? Obviously up her a##. What would make you think that putting your 5 yr old in a strangers car by themselve is a smart idea? She should be made to take parenting classes with a course in common sense. This is so wrong on so many levels. What an irresponsible mom. SMDH. I really cannot believe she did this. The utter stupidity amazes me. I am actually at a loss for words. If you read anything else I've posted you know I have plenty to say and never at a loss for words:) I cant believe  a mom is this stupid and irresponsible with her child's life. This is just sad. Props to the Lyft driver. He did the right thing.

Umm, nope. A Lyft driver would be considered a stranger. Plus, the driver isn’t supposed to take the child even.

If you left your five year old kid at a park, that isn’t “putting your kid in the protection of other park goers.”
