After watching this idiot on the highway, I'd say time to start writing massive tickets and geofence all of them. Emergency rooms are reporting so many more injuries, they're deadly.

What gets me about these things, and bikes, is how no one wears a helmet. Of course they don't, because they don't rent helmets with them. But it's just so dumb, especially in the city. One bad move by an inattentive driver and you are maimed for life. Really foolish.

Let's talk, how about a helmet rental app?

I am surprised they are not geofenced already? Can you just take them anywhere?

In Los Angeles you can take them anywhere, geofencing is a great idea. They’re starting it by not allowing the rider to end the ride on the app until the scooter is in a designated drop off zone. But that kind of defeats the purpose of using a scooter.

They're creating designated drop off zones in Los Angeles now since residents are sick of them being dumped in front of their homes. Check out the thread I posted with a link to a video of sone dude in Texas riding one on the highway and crossing 4 lanes of traffic.

The thing that bothers me as a driver is that these scooter riders act like they own the road. A lot of them will end up in emergency rooms if not worse.

I read some article recently of some guy who was "repossessing" scooters throughout his city and had thousands of them already LOL I love how the community is fighting back.

Yes in San Diego, they confiscated close to 10000 of them, now Bird and Lime are suing them, 😆

If someone wants to do something stupid and hurt themselves, it's their problem. But if they are gonna go on the highway and be a danger to others, it becomes everyone's problem. These things need to go IMO.
