How are the pickup policies at Honolulu Airports these days? I know Lyft was not allowed before and people had to walk off premises to be picked up.

Yes, Uber and Lyft are both permitted for both drop-offs and pickups at Honolulu Internatinoal Airport (HNL). There are strict regulations and guidelines placed on Uber and its drivers; however, the situation has been cleaned up from the riders' perspective.
The drop-offs are made at the Departures just like any other passengers.
The pickups are done at designated rideshare pickup areas. There are two of these areas, one for each terminal, Interisland and Mainland.
