Update. HNL now allows Lyft for pickups. Uber is ok. Both with caveats.
UPDATE: Both Lyft and Uber both can pick up and drop off at Honolulu Airport.

I am able bodied and can easily walk out of the HNL airport. Where is the closest legal slocation for a Lyft pickup? Scott
We might be working with two forces here. One is the airport authority who may catch the driver doing illegal pickups. The other is the Lyft app that may catch your location and deny your request.
I first thought if you just leave the terminal curb area, to say, rental car location, you will be safe. However, that is still considered as the airport premise. With that said, I think if you can pick out a private property near the airport, say Best Western or Pacific Marina Inn, you should be good There's also a neighborhood close to HNL called Hickam, which is like a mile. That may work too. I am sorry I am not able to give a concrete answer.
