If you are talking about the carpooling options for Uber and Lyft (UberPool and LyftLine) you can request up to 2 seats in the car. The car may be filled with other passengers as well. If you are requesting a standard service (UberX or Lyft), you can request a ride for up to 4 people, and for an XL vehicle (UberXL, LyftSUV), up to 6.
