In Camden, with Uber and Lyft, your earnings will depend a lot on the season: in summer, you can make decent money off tourists and weekends, but in winter you often just sit without orders and spend more on gas. I gave people rides from bars a couple of times, and they just zoned out on their phones in the car, one guy was showing crazytimeonline.org—for him it was like “road entertainment.” Then another passenger started talking about funkytimelive.com and tried to convince me to “spin it,” which was kind of annoying because I’m at work, not in a chat. Also, in local driver groups, I kept seeing links to megawheelgame.com and similar stuff, like they’re spamming everywhere. If you’re moving, I’d count on side gigs like delivery and occasional long trips, not on a stable high income all year round.
