When Your Uber Driver REALLY Wants Five Stars [Funny or Die]
-
Can You Find Love in a Rideshare?
I've been around the block too many times, and I just can't help noticing that this topic comes up for … -
Hey passengers. What creative amenities or extras do you wish your UberX drivers offered?
Water, gum, mints, umbrella, ponchos, aux cable, and charging cables. I have heard those. Anything extra you want? I am …
Why can't they record kids? Even kids lose their rights expectation to privacy when in public places? or in someone else's private property.
I hope this isn't an obvious advice for you. When I used to drive in the suburbs, meaning non-major metropolitan areas, I used to focus my time on transportation hubs. Train stations, bus stations, airports. I would look up when the long-distance trips would arrive, and make sure to be as close to that location, even if I were double parked. (I want to be the closest.)
What's nice about these places is that not only you have predictable ridership, the trips originating from these areas are longer in nature. For example, people who are traveling to go home. These aren't people who are leaving their home to go to a nearby bar or to school. They don't have a car so they are getting a ride regardless of the distance.
Good luck, buddy.
You've actually gotten tips for 35, 40, ad 101? What were the circumstances? That's insane. $101? Who the heck are these people? was the ride $10,000?
Here I am conting the pennies on the tips I get. Maybe I am just not a great driver
Right. That was the first thought I had. Uber is supposed to be connecting with drivers closest to the request. So why would this matter, ya know?
This is scam, but what about those who just jump in the car without me verifying or inviting them into the car. They are all in it to steal someone else's Uber.
I started locking my doors until ready, but I shouldn't have to do that, ya know?
Hahaha, it happens all the time,my friend. Like ALL the time. It's perfectly normal. In fact, as a driver, I appreciate that you trust our driving and believing in us getting you home safe. That's actually a great satisfying part of our jobs.
You don't have to be afraid of falling asleep. Falling asleep on a train is one thing. You can miss your stop. With an Uber, we will gently wake you once we are at the destination.
Depends on the surge too. If it's 2.5x, I will wait for a long time. ...though, maybe that's not smart because maybe I can be getting over surge trips.
You are right. I think they are. They're a Japanese conglomerate though, not Chinese.
In fact, they have a huge stake in Didi as well. Same parent. That's a bit awkward.
You'd probably get paid in Yuan.
As much as I hate Uber, they are an American company I prefer to support when things blow up. Lyft has way too much foreign money in it.
Are you a psychic. Yes, I do. EE or EEE is customary. How did you know?
Do people with wide feet have more back problems? Are we more flat footed, or something.
how did this topic become about back. it was about butt before. LOL.
Done with my shift. good night.
Are you being real right now? I struggle with it too, and I am only (?) 40. got some years left and not looking forward to a lifetime or this back issue. what you wrote sounds, "heavenly."
I see similar devices anywhere from $25 to like $100. can I get the $25 and get away with it.
Remember that the goal of these fees isn't so much to compensate the driver and keep them happy. The primary goal is to make sure the driver accepts the pickups that are far away. (Yeah, I know I am sort of saying the same thing, but there's a nuance there.)
So to put it bluntly, they just waned to display, "Long pickup fee possible!"
Amateur move, brotha! LOL. When given the opportunity to receive the long pickup fee, you must take the longest route possible. If you got $0.08, that means the clock JUST started running for you. This means you drove like 20 minutes or (8 miles or something) just to cross the threshold for the fee, and you failed to not enjoy it. You were probably in the bonus zone for like 6 seconds. Only if you had gotten stuck at that red light for 3 minutes, you would have gotten $6 more!
Don't worry, dude. It happens to me all the time. I started to notice this more in the suburbs. I drove like 25 minutes somewhere and I made like $1.20.
See, everyone thought we'd make a killing on this, but they don't pay you nearly as much as the driving time/distance while there is a pax on the car.
