Lyft bought the company that owns Citibike.. what does this mean for transportation in cities?
Will Citibike go away and be completely replaced by Lyft? Is this going to make bike rentals more expensive? -
I heard taxis are going to start doing upfront pricing?
Is this true? Has anyone in New York City experienced upfront pricing before? It seems like a good idea, but … -
Is driving for uber and lyft safe? I keep hearing these horror stories of drivers getting shot because passengers get angry.
In the news I hear about how passengers can steal stuff from drivers, and even hurt them violently. Is this …
Could be a scam, don't give anyone your personal information over email because someone could be trying to hack into your account. If it's from Uber, they will already have all the information they need about you. (they keep track of that stuff)
I have heard of the company but I myself have not used it. I think as a driver you sign up for Cargo and agree to be shipped a certain number of products which you then can sell to passengers in your car. I'm assuming you'd have to pay for stuff upfront, but not sure about tht. Anyone done this before? Now you got me curious
These stories are crazy. Is this common to have so much happen as a driver? The worst part is these sound like they weren't your fault, but you still had to take time off to deal with it.
Maybe when a person goes to pick up the Scooter and it is damaged, they can be prompted to report the damage to Bird or whichever company they use. Then they can determine it was the person who used the scooter prior who caused the damage, and charge them accordingly.
Why would you want to work more than 12 hours a day? That just sounds terrible - but like others are saying - if you're not making enough doing that then it might be time to pursue other options. Uber and Lyft are nice to do on the side but not something you should be doing 100+ hours a week.
Uber gives drivers discounts for rental cars too I think, but only through the services they support. I think it's 10 or 20% off, nothing too big
Some drivers who have been doing it for a while know how to strategically plan rides so they make money. The numbers that get published are averages of everyone.
That's crazy! Definitely not a good look for the company..and the CEO.
hahaha.. can i request a taxi from my phone now too? is there even a difference now between taxis and ubers?
uber says the reason is because more people need drivers so the demand is up. all that supply and demand BS that they love to tell us so we pay more
will uber pay for me to have my own camera in the car to ensure my safety?
that would be nice, but can you imagine all the millions of people trying to call in at once.. that would be a lot of money to pay for phone operators.
there isn't a set time that's best, but I'd probably avoid rush hour in the morning and afternoon when people are going to and from work.
but what if my credit card company doesn't know I'm traveling to a different country??
you could start be making an app and see what happens. maybe talk to some drivers and passengers to get their opinions on what would work
