I have been driving for about a year now, with over 3,500 rides and a 4.95 rating. I just received an email from UBer, via Checkr, saying pre-notice of adverse action, saying my request for a partnership might be denied due to some minor traffic viloations a few years ago. I now have received a post-notice of adverse action from Uber saying they are going to decline my request for a partnership. Does this mean deactivation is around the corner?

Thoughts???

By partnership you do mean being a driver, right?

They have been tightening the background checks, or at least they claim to be.  However, I heard this is more for criminal records, where they started checking for more details like violence, abuse, etc.  So if you didn't have any of those, I think you would be okay.

Not sure why the minor driving infraction of the past would play into it now.   Maybe Uber is tightening up on the driving records too. Maybe you were always hovering around the threshold and this is what may break the camel's back?

Yes, when I refer to partnership I am referring to be being a driver (partnership was their word actually). I have no criminal record of any kind...it was just so odd, given that I've been driving for them for about a year, with no issues whatsoever!

Could be a scam, don't give anyone your personal information over email because someone could be trying to hack into your account. If it's from Uber, they will already have all the information they need about you. (they keep track of that stuff)

I have not been active for 3 weeks....on eday it was working, next day I get the message "your account needs attention, contact Uber support". So, I contact them, they say I need to go online and consent to a background check, I tell them numerous times its been done, WITHOUT my consent btw, which is illegal, and sent them the copy 3 times. After 2 weeks my account status changed to "Getting things ready, we'll let you know when you can accept rides". So, after a week of this I called several times, with the same canned reponse you need to consent to a background check....omg, how stupid...so, finally my status changed back this morning to "your account needs attention, please contact Uber support" and when I go online (computer) to look at my profile, it has "rejected" underneath my pic. I reached to inquire about an appeal process, got a canned answer back to contact Checkr, though they don;t make any decisions. This is ridiculous....a good driver for nearly a year, one of the higher ratings in my area (according to an Uber rep) and nearly 3,000 rides without any incidents. Crazy!

Are you sure the email was from Uber? Could it be some type of scam?

wow, interesting, anything in particular spur this sudden email from Uber? So strange that it came out of the blue when you have been driving for a year. It seems like they might deactivate you...

Well, I was deifinitely surprised...the email was was worded like they were considering my application to drive for them. I sent a generic email to them and their response was that they periodically review drivers. I would have thought this would have come uo with my initlal application last year.

Definitely strange. I thought they reviewed drivers to see if there was anything new from the last time they checked our history. Weird that they would bring something up from a long time ago.
