Part of the problem is that some riders just don't understand how pool works. They just see how cheap it is and push the button. This guy obviously has an anger management problem too which isn't helping the situation.
Holy crap. This is my worst nightmare. You're right, Uber should be handling this somehow.
Taxis in my city always have a big thick plastic shield in front of the back seat. For this reason. Not bulletproof but enough to keep physical barrier between driver and pax and prevent any grappling etc. Maybe someone needs to market these for uber drivers. Uber should give them to people driving in high risk areas.
There are a lot of things that annoy me but I also just try to let most of it slide. People are people and if you let all these little things get to you you will hate driving real quick because they are not going to stop happening.
Having said that I really hate smelly pax. Everything else can be dealt with but godammit take care of your BO people.
Do you really think they will never be profitable? My gut tells me they will eventually figure out how to make money. But my brain feels me they can't. I don't know what to think.
Yeah so this is why we need to tax the rich more. Income inequality is out of control. It is not just uber drivers suffering, it is anyone who does anything remotely blue collar. Yet people voted for Trump, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has never had to work a day in his life, thinking he would somehow be on their side. Trump doesn't even know how much a loaf of bread costs.
I guess what I have to ask is what would these people be doing if not for uber and lyft? There have always been homeless people living in cars. I am not saying uber and lyft treat their drivers well but I don't think we can blame the homeless problem in SF on them alone. The whole city is becoming impossible to live in for anyone who doesn't make their living at a keyboard.
It seems like any effort to game the surge system by drivers would quickly be figured out and thwarted by an algorithm change from Uber. Not much opportunity for drivers IMO.
Whaaaaaaat the f...
Uh ya I don't give my phone out... why would they need it? They obviously have a working phone of their own or else they couldn't get an uber...
Well.. that's not good.

About time. They should do that here too (US).
nice...
culling the herd. A lot of big companies practice this. Every now and then, get rid of all the weak people. Let them go to their competitors.
Ewwwwww
