Uber cutting 400 jobs in their marketing department!

The ax has fallen at UBER, let's see how many of the 400 become drivers.

    Daamn.

    The restructuring is meant to help Uber have a more consistent brand message, Uber says.

    I wonder how cutting 400 marketing people achieves this...

      They're a lost ship, those 400 were probably the ones responsible for the new UBER driver app logo. 😆

      They announced it with huge fanfare on the app.

        Uber really sucks at logos. Their last one was horrible. Then they realized it and now it's just the word uber. In helvetica font. The laziest logo possible but at least it looks nice and inoffensive. But now this driver logo somehow manages to ruin even that! It looks so bad! 

        Amazing. Boggles the mind.

      Marketing department is in charge of all the driver and rider bonuses, I guess subsidized fantasy land is coming to an end. Welcome the the driver's world.

    culling the herd. A lot of big companies practice this. Every now and then, get rid of all the weak people. Let them go to their competitors.

    We knew things were going to change after the IPO. Seems like their marketing dept was a little large... 1200 people... what were they all doing, I have to wonder.

      Working on how to cut the driver's pay by lowering miles/minute rates, cutting or eliminating quests, boost zones, eliminating surge, flat rate surge, upfront pricing etc.

      Maybe they all will become UBER drivers now. 😆
