Uber Quiet Mode is meant to be for conversations.
As stated in this article, What is Uber Quiet Mode, this feature is actually meant to be used for Conversations, and the two settings are:
- Quiet Preferred
- Happy to Chat
Hence, the Quiet Mode seems to only apply to conversations and not music.
Uber's website has been a bit vague, but this is how they define their "Quiet Mode," and it does sound like it only applies to conversations.
- Quiet Mode: if you need to respond to emails or are in the mood for a nap, make your trip a quieter one with just one tap. If you’re in the mood to chat, that’s an option too.
Of course, the consumers/riders should have the right to specify this preference (of music or no music) anyway. Simply ask your driver.
