I need the Lyft driver to come inside and help. Will they do that?
The Guru Take
Not part of their job description. Some drivers may help if you ask.
No, typically, drivers do not come inside to pick up a passenger. During pickups, they wait in the car, and would only step outside to You help you enter the vehicle.
It doesn't hurt to ask a driver if he or she is willing to help. You have to remember that this is not expected of Lyft drivers and completely outside of their job description. If he or she accepts, it is a personal agreement between two people. (You should also tip well.)
Uber's UberWAV option has trained drivers to assit you to get in and out of cars. However, I do not think they are designed to help you in your home.
