I would like to know if Lyft covers gunshot damage to a vehicle that occurs during a ride? Bullet holes, broken windows, broken taillights, blood stains on the interior, etc...
Insurance for gunshot damage to car during a ride.

Re: Insurance for gunshot damage to car during a ride.
Hi Tavsor,
First off, I'm very sorry to hear what happened. It's entirely unfair and I know you're just trying to do your job. Just because we hear about these cases all the time doesn't make it right.
First, it's difficult to bring a legal claim against Lyft for this type of incident, but you can sue the people who shot at you. If you want to file a lawsuit, you should contact your state's Bar Association for an attorney referral. Ask for a lawyer who specializes in assaults, batteries and intentional torts.
Second, the best course of action is to file a criminal complaint with the police and contact the attorney general for their “victims assistance” program which can reward up to $27,000 to help compensate for your expenses. Just search for your state's Victims Assistance Program.
The firm I work for, LegalRideshare, is a personal injury firm, meaning we assist drivers who have been physically injured in rideshare-related crashes. However, feel free to shoot me an email if you have any additional questions: [email protected].
