It’s like a game of chicken. When it comes to making policies or rules around minors, whoever flinches or do anything first loses.
Creating a policy, process, or even guidelines opens up for accepting liability.
That’s the sue-sue-sue America that we live in, folks.
Here id my question to you, if someone looks young do you ask to see ID before they get in your car?
Got to make a judgement call but most of the time it's pretty obvious, also pay attention to your pickup address, such as elementary, middle or high school.
How would they verify? I agree this problem needs to be fixed but part of this in on these kids parents for letting them have such freedom.
I agree, very difficult proposition but they should have dire consequences for the rider, they could add a tab on the drover app where the driver could alert Uber about underage passengers, then UBER can deactivate them like they do with drivers
Uber and Lyft allow it because its a win win for them. If we get them to their destination safely there is no problems Uber and Lyft get their $. If something goes wrong Uber and Lyft will say "we tell drivers not to pick up accompanied minors, its in the TOS". They throw the driver right under the bus. They cant lose in the situation only the driver.
