Should I rent a car to drive for Uber and Lyft? Do you have advice when I use services like Lyft Express Drive program (Hertz), ZipCar rental, GoAround, etc?

To calculate the driver ratings, how many recent trips does Uber take into account?
For cancellation and acceptance rates, the app says 7 days. What about the Driver Star Ratings? -
Is this a driver scam? Driver starts the trip WITHOUT YOU in the car. Why? Maybe to find your destination? Then cancels if he doesn't like it.
I've been seen a few scam attempts by drivers. Here's one. I requested an Uber once in Mid-town after my …
Right. There’s a doubt on the economics of it. It’s hard to make money for drivers and it’s arguable whether people will pay the premium to get food delivered.
Also remember, people in the suburbs already have cars and have the means of picking up the food on their own.
Got it! It reminds me of a video game where you chase the bonus items in a maze. It must be a similar concept. Also, you must mean 8.25 is $8.25. Can’t be a multiplier.
No, I don’t drive. I created a Partners account but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet
That's neat that the surge kept creeping up, and you were able to keep it. (So you got a 8.25X surge? Wow.)
I wonder what it's like from the eyes of a customer though. One can be in an area where there is no surge, but depending on where the driver came from he can be dinged with inflated prices.
Also, does the surge earned by the driver stick forever? It must not. A customer shouldn't be dinged with a surge from an hour ago when the roads were busy. So many questions.
Sorry. I’m thick headed. What does “Premium Pickup Possible?”
Where does it get displayed and to whom? Drivers?
No no. Thank you for the details and clarification! You know your stuff!
That’s interesting how the surge sticks with you. Not sure why such a rule exist, but hey why not. Keeps the drivers happy, I bet.
Yeah I know what a surge is, but I wasn’t sure what it meant by no more surge. Just smaller amounts and multipliers?
Can't you just keep them all open and just ignore or decline other requests?
I was just in London and used Uber. (I am from the states.) It was great. Same app, same payment method. Same everything. showed up in minutes in most of london.
There's gotta be a penalty for the passengers or it's an empty threat. and waht's the meaning of having passenger ratings?!
I guess I don't know anything about what drivers go through. what do you mean tahey got rid of the surge? Sorry I don't drive, so I have no idea.
I am not a driver. What does that mean. Is that UberBlack?
I assume that's what gets displayed when you get a ride request?
Wow. That’s messed up. Yeah. That’s taking it way too far.
Gots to be illegal.
Her point is that when these troubles happen, she doesn't feel comfortable with having a male driver. "Getting lost" and "not following directions" can be seen as a abdusting attempt, for example.
Are you joking, so many passenger photos are all over the place on Facebook. I just hope those people don't realize their photos out there.
Then again, I bet photos of you are all out there anyways. Go to a touristy location? I am sure you are in the background of some family pictures. Your picture could be on someone else's fireplace mantle! Right now!
I don't even know what the laws are. I read an article how drivers can legally have dashcams to record passengers. Reason being it's your damn car.
Do I now just wait for the check?
Awesome. Sounds like you know exactly what you are doing.
It's a conglomerate. Hahaha.
Your LLC has your riding business and landlord business under one? What is the business supposed to be? Aren't you supposed to open two businesses then? Too funny. I'd do the same too.
OK, now I am angry. Who is this driver? We need to save him! Somehow...
That's messed up that this PR, fake news, ploy will bring down this driver. Uber won't fight it because the condition of this kid. I mean look at the headline.
This driver will be deactivated and his livelihood ruined!! That's messed up. That should be an article on its own.
Weird, I feel like I have ridden with every one
good job
Changes are they do. It depends on the location but in most urban situations, you can use credit cards.
HOWEVER! Japan has a way more cash-centric culture than US. In fact, most countries do. Some drivers may frown upon it.
