This is just so very true. Drivers love taking pictures...
“17 year old drunk girl puked in my car, ugggggggg,” an Uber driver shared with fellow drivers in a private Facebook group. It was one of her first days driving for the platform, and she had picked up an underage girl who was extremely drunk. She wanted to vent her frustrations. She also thought to capture the moment. Along with her comment was a photo of the teen on her cellphone covered in vomit.
“Wayment! That’s puke on her? At first I thought it was the pattern of her outfit!” one driver responded.
“Sitting there looking stupid. You wanna b an adult, well missy here’s your chance,” another one said.
While some wanted the photo of the minor taken down, most thought it was funny and relatable. Some advised the driver on how to get Uber to clean up the car. As one poster quipped, “Welcome to rideshare.”
Of course, the 17-year old passenger didn’t know her vomit-covered image was taken by the driver, nor did she know it would be seen by the 10,052 (and growing) members of the “Atlanta Uber/Lyft Drivers Unite” Facebook group. She just thought she was getting a ride home.
Similar stories of unsuspecting customers being secretly roasted and shamed litter the Drivers Unite group. In one thread, a driver joked about “this big giant heffa” he saw while picking up a passenger at a shopping center. He quickly realized that the woman in question might be his passenger, so he cancelled the ride to prevent the woman from entering his car. He later pulled up a pixelated picture of the woman and posted it on the group, to which members proceeded to joke about her weight and praise his “pull off game.”

Not good posting these pics on social media. I get it can be funny, enteraining etc... but suppose it was your family member or someone you cared about. Maybe the person you post pic of took a new medicine or wasnt feeling well you assume they are drunk and post pic. Lets say its not their usual behavior but a bad decision one night. Just not right on many levels to be posting pics of any kind without permission. I get people do it all the time. Just could end up ruin things for some people including person who post.
Some people just don’t know what’s right and what’s wrong. They walk amongst us which is scary.
Are you joking, so many passenger photos are all over the place on Facebook. I just hope those people don't realize their photos out there.
Then again, I bet photos of you are all out there anyways. Go to a touristy location? I am sure you are in the background of some family pictures. Your picture could be on someone else's fireplace mantle! Right now!
I don't even know what the laws are. I read an article how drivers can legally have dashcams to record passengers. Reason being it's your damn car.
Chris, I know they are out there. I just dont think it's right. I live a few blocks from a bar where this elderly woman striiped totally naked and sat on the bench in front of bar. Probably has dementia or some other mental illness. Some young guy passing by took a pic put it on FB of course went viral. I notified FB and requested it be taken down. The bar took it and blew the pic up and put a caption on it and put it up in bar. They did blur her face out. Damage all ready done everyone in neighborhood seen the original. I think it's so wrong on many levels. It just sucks that people post this stuff. People with dementia or other illness are not in their right mind. Suppose someone did that to their family member. It's awful what some people post for a like or a laugh.
Wow. That’s messed up. Yeah. That’s taking it way too far.
Gots to be illegal.
Why did the driver pickup an underage rider?
18 to Uber. 21 to drink.
Wasn't there a *my driver took a picture of my drunken girlfriend* post somewhere on this forum?
Yep.
Why did my Uber driver take pictures of my girlfriend puking?
Took me a minute to find this. I searched for "girlfriend", and I was surprised to see there are LOTS of rideshare and girlfriend topics.
