  Easy. Raise the rates!  Back to the levels of regular taxis.

  • Depend on the Technology: The Uber's app experience has been game changing, and people loved it for the convenience, simplicity, and the safety it promoted.  That itself is an incentive for people to use it.  Why did they ever slash rates?

  • Competitors?  No problem! Lyft and other rideshare companies are barely keeping up and pegging their rates on Uber.  If Uber raised the rates, they will too.  No need to worry about the competition.

  • Become profitable: Taxis were localized annd profitable.  Bring the prices up to its previous levels, and Uber can immediately solve

  • Happy drivers? Worried about driver retention?  All the complaints you hear about from drivers are the rates.  All the fiasco about transparencies, hours, employees/contractors, safety, etc. etc. etc.?  They will all be solved once the rates are raised and drivers start making good money.

   6 years ago in  Is it true that Uber will give you preferential treatment (i.e. more rides) if you rent the car from Uber?

  I never thought the economics ever made sense for renting a car.  The rideshare economy makes sense only beecause you already own or lease your car for a daily living. This is America where 99% of the people must have a car to get around.  I am not saying it's only for passive income, but having the ability to make money off of the car you already own is the most attractive proposition of working for Uber, IMO.

  Yeah, i'd hate to say it, but Ubers are always cleaner.  I've always been impressed with Uber cars, perhaps due to being used to the quality of taxis.  

  I've run into my share of UberXs that are like from 2005, that were worn.  but none of them smelled that bad.  Then again, I've also run into smelly drivers, but not sure if that is different between taxi drivers vs. uber drivers.

  Funny how this complain comes up on this forum regularly. 

  Don't blame the driver.  It is a predatory scam being delivered by passengers to hurt other passengers.  People try to steal other people's Ubers all the time. It's a ticket to a free ride.  They all think it's so clever and also a victimless crime. 

  I heard college students bragging and promoting it to each other multiple times.  This is definitely a thing
