How do Uber drivers get paid for UberPools? Do they get paid double or triple?
The Guru Take
Drivers get paid for distance and duration driven.
The drivers get paid for the distance and duration driven, like any other ride, such as UberX. (Remember, the same drivers provide both UberX and UberPool services.)
Pickup Fees: In some cities, Uber started to pay the driver for each pickup. For example, in Los Angeles, each UberPool pickup nets the driver $0.95.
Surge Pricing: Surge on uberPOOL always matches surge on UberX. If the driver picks up multiple riders at different surge multiples then the average of the surge multiples will apply to your fare.
So, no they do not get paid double or triple. Wouldn't that be nice.

Waaaaaait. So while the driver is driving multiple parties, they still only get paid like there's one? So Uber gets to pocket the rest?
UberPool isn't that much cheaper than UberX. So while Uber may be able to charge DOUBLE the driver gets paid for one. That does NOT seem fair.
The thing is this whole thing isn't doing well, right? the pool? I keep hearing horrible things from drivers and how no one does it.
This is one of those things I already knew but makes me angry when I start thinking about it. Thanks for stressing me out.
If the drivers got paid triple, people will be doing UberPool ONLY. How great would that be.
The thing is, as this OP wonders, why not, right? It's technically possible for Uber to pass on this revenue to the drivers. They just decide not to.
More work same pay.
