The Taxi King flips
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2018/05/22/a-big-shoe-drops-in-the-mueller-probe-as-the-taxi-king-flips/?utm_term=.2c09ac8ac024 Michael Cohen's old partner in the taxi biz is squawking now... I didn't realize Cohen was a taxi guy. …
Well... This is one thing rideshares have over taxis. No huge wads of cash sitting around the cab.
Lyft is gonna have to fight back with their own strip. It's a strip arms race.
3 hours, wow, what a grind. Did you ever get funny looks from other drivers? Did you run into any other drivers who had interesting or novel ways of passing the time?
How long would you be waiting in the staging area usually? It's cool that you were able to do something so nice with that time.
People do crap like this. I know people that take full advantage of store return policies. Buy a jacket. Wear it out a few times. Return it for full refund. They think they are being so smart. They don't realize that the rest of us know you can do that, too, but we choose not to because we are decent people.
Ok but one of the big selling points of rideshares vs taxi at the beginning was the frictionless user experience, which included no obligation to tip. This sucks.
I wonder if she will feel a backlash. I can only imagine there will be cultural resistance, like when someone orders an uber and a woman shows up to drive them around. That takes some serious strength on her part.
In a lot of places, most actually, they are literally the same drivers. Drivers drive for both lyft and uber, at the same time. So you are not going to have a big difference in the level of service.
They are both dependable, as in once you order a ride and it is accepted, the driver will show up. But most places have more uber drivers if that is what you mean.
"in an effort to boost its flagging safety reputation"
Ummm... If you have to add a special button right on your home screen to call 911, that does not make your app look "safer"... If you have so many incidents that that button is a necessity, something is wrong with your service...
I'm not surprised it didn't work. Logistics is hard.
OMG is this really going to happen? I'm starting to get a little excited.
One sexual assault is one too many. Let me just say that at the start. But when you think about 103, compared to the millions of Uber rides that have happened, this seems like a very small percentage.
This really shouldn't be so hard. They even give you the car make, model, and color in the app. Just do a quick scan!
Oh yeah? You sure this wasn't you?

Seriously. This would be hilarious is someone wasn't killed.
You sound like an expert. Please, tell us more.
imagine if it was uber pool and some poor guy had to share it with him...
And there are parents who literally throw their kids in an Uber to take them to school!!
