This oughtta be fun.
Thousands of Uber and Lyft cars will be outfitted with video-ad screens that cannot be turned off and that can be only “near” muted, The Post has learned.
The ad company Vugo has contracts with about 3,500 New York City black-car drivers to install the screens, founder James Bellefeuille said. The screens will be up and running within weeks, and he is on the hunt for more drivers to sign up.

Right so basically,
Maybe some ultra violence to go with it.

It's the NYC Cabs all over again. They have a nice big button that says to turn it off though. MUTE or OFF. Actually, they did a good job with that.
Jesus. Do we get to ride for free then?
LOL '“We may add an off button in the future, depending on how users respond,” he added.'
Umm, I think I can tell you exactly how users are going to respond, buddy.
Not the onion
If it makes rides cheaper than I would not have a problem with this. Maybe it could even be an option. Press a button in the app before your ride to choose ads or not. If you choose ads you get a hefty discount on the ride. Surely no one would argue against that.
What is this guy smoking?
Driver Mike Alvela, who signed up to put one of the screens in his car, said he thinks it will class up his rides. “It gives riders something to play with and it looks trendy,” he said. “I hope it will help me get more five-star ratings.”
TBH this sounds like a fake made up quote.
