RIDEGURU
We are to arrive on Amtrak at 9pm at Union Station LA. We need transportation from there to our hotel near LAX where we have a flight next morning. What is the best way to go? Are there cabs 'sitting' there at the station waiting for fares? Should I use Uber? Can I make arrangements from the train to set a pick up? Twice before using Amtrak we were late arriving--one time 5 hours late. Can't depend completely on that 9pm arrival time.

9PM at Union? There should be plenty of taxis in the taxi stand. Follow the signs and you should be all set. You shouldn't have to reserve one and I wouldn't gonthrough Amtrak.
Yeah, if you aren't sure when you would be arriving, just get off the train and then worry about it. There should be plenty of taxis and Ubers.

I would try Uber. Once you get to the station there should be plenty nearby, just use the app once you get there.
