I am sorry to hear that your car was totaled. This is indeed a huge headache for those who drive rideshares for a living. When the car is immobilized for whatever reason, we cannot work!
Unfortunately, you have to have your own insurance on the vehicle you use for Uber and other rideshares. You generally have to submit information where the insurance is in your name or at lealst be attached to the policy as an authorized driver.
