I need to pick up heavy packages at home depot. Is that a problem?
The Guru Take
That is ok, and transporting some goods is within the acceptable use of Uber or Lyft. You can call a car of the proper size and ask for a ride.
With that said, the rideshare cars are meant more to transport people and not so much to haul large and very heavy items. You should make your best judgment on whether the item will fit in the car, whether the item will damage the car, and whether the driver will mind this special request. This all depends on how big and heavy the package is that you are referring to. Lastly, ,ake sure to check the size of the car and how much cargo space you need. I would imagine an SUV will be a better fit.
Lastly, you can always approach car services or rent a car. In both cases, you can reserve the ride and set some expectations (and get approval) on the items you are planning to transport. That should give you a better level of comfort, knowing that there won't be an issue, right? You'd hate to face an issue standing outside HomeDepot with a huge item.
