Is it really guaranteed? I have never used Uber and this is something I wonder about.
How is this possible? Aren't there so many factors that cannot be determined until one takes the ride? My understanding is that Uber's pricing works just like a taximeter, which is based on time and distance. How can they so accurately predict it?

About 60-70% of the time, the price they quote is correct and they charge you that exact amount but I have had the price go up on me before (not so surprisingly, the price has never gone down from the quoted price...). If my driver takes a different route or there is really horrendous traffic, then the price will increase and will be different from the original quote.
